sky princess mini suite sofa bed

We are looking at a northern Europe cruise on the Sky Princess next year  with our child who will be 2 years old by that stage.

We are planning to go for a mini suite to allow us some more space and the important balcony to escape to when our child is sleeping!

We plan to get him to sleep on the sofa bed however from what I've seen the sofa bed folds out to a double which will make it difficult to get past it to get to the balcony. However I've also seen one of the mini suites as a 4 berth which has the sofa as a single bed and a pullman bed above which would be better for us.

Is the sofa different in the 3 and 4 berth mini suites or is the sofa the same in all mini suites  and can be changed to either a single or double if required?

The sofa bed in a mini-suite is effectively a single bed that doesn't take up any more cabin space when it's made up.  Some of them have a pullman bed, but not all - you'll be fine if it doesn't. The other benefit is the heavy duty curtain between the main bed and the sofa bed which also give you the option of having your lights on when the wee one is asleep.
