Enchanted Princess - Only 1 Formal Night...

Just off a B2B (2-7 day) on the Enchanted Princess Rome to Barcelona.

We found it interesting that there was only 1  formal night each week---we don't really care either way, but it was interesting.

The 1st formal night each week was the first sea day.

There was a Gold and White evening, but it was on a Smart Casual night.

The weirdest thing was that the menu usually on the 2nd formal night, with the "Land and Sea" option (steak and lobster) was on a Smart Casual night! (This also happened both weeks.)

We asked our server about it and he said sometimes Princess likes to 'change things up a bit'.

Just thought I should post it so if you are looking for "Land and Sea", you better keep an eye on the menus every night, not just the formal night.

Interesting.  They have also done one FN and one DTI (Dress To Impress) night on some voyages in the past year.  It could be that PCL Is slowly turtling their way to phasing out the recommended dress for FN, but of course guests are welcome to dress formally any night they desire.

Did you notice if many guests participated?  Recent reports indicate a fairly low percentage dress in the gold and white combo or singly.

Actually, there was a much higher participation on  this cruise than on our cruise last summer where we saw hardly anyone. It was a different cruise with LOTS of 1st time cruisers, so maybe they paid a lot more attention to the emails, one of which did mention gold and white night. I think it also was a much lower average age than any Princess cruise I have been on---many in their 40s and 50s I'd say....don't know if that made a difference....

There was a white night on our last princess cruise. We knew nothing about it. Is there a notification somewhere that we should bring our Hawaiian shirt, or whatever colored clothing would be appropriate on that night?

As mentioned in post #4, it seems guests are being sent emails about the event.  It's also mentioned on the website I think.  It seems a lot of folks don't investigate much before their vacation.

Thanks. I didn’t notice it.

I haven’t seen an email about it. I get about 5 emails a week from Princess Casino, but I don’t ever get email from Princess regarding the voyage itself. I get all information in the app. What email address would it come from?

PS I do plenty of research; thanks.

Can you tell me where these emails are coming from? I don’t think I’ve seen a, “here’s what’s happening next month,” email from Princess in several years. I think the last one must have been at least 10 years ago. I get everything from the TA or the app, now. (And, here, of course.)

One thing you could check is:

-Logon to your Princess online account

-Click on My Account

-Click on My Profile

-Scroll down to Receive Offers and News

-Be sure your Email is "Yes"

Depending on your email, it might also be landing in a Junk folder, so you might want to keep an eye on that if you have an upcoming cruise.

It looks like the most recent ones I have received came from:

info@em.princess.com

though there are other email addresses......the upgrade emails come from:

info@princessupgrade.princess.com

Since you mentioned you have a TA, you might also ask them if they see anything on your account that would result in you not getting emails.

That's all I can think of....good luck!

Interesting; well, I checked all of that.

I guess that at least partially explains why so few are aware of these HS-style Homecoming week dress up activities!!
