I like a Gimlet, prefer gin to vodka but will take either in a pinch,  half and half alcohol/lime juice and a touch of simple syrup, shaken with ice and strained into a proper martini glass with a wheel of fresh lime on the side.  Delish.

Exactly but I prefer stirred to shaken   Less icebergs in the glass that way

I spoke with the assistant bar manager about the cranberry juice and the lime juice. His explanation was that the ship received inferior products at the Brooklyn port.  He said that he and the bar manager went to supermarkets at two ports to try to purchase regular cranberry juice.  He apologized.  Don’t know if I believe a word of it.

We're just off a short 2-day itinerary on the Grand.

My usual favourites are the frozen pina colada and the raspberry Baileys martini.

The pina colada was exactly how I remembered it. Yes, it's a mix but that's how I like it.

The raspberry Baileys martini was dreadful. It was icy rather than creamy and I chose not to drink any more after the first one.
