New requirements for Malaysia?

Message for U.S. Citizens: Changes to Arrival Procedures for Travelers Entering Malaysia - U.S. Embassy in Malaysia (usembassy.gov)

 

Has anyone seen this?  Are cruises exempt?

There are no exemptions for cruises.

OK.  Well then it looks like this would have to be done on the ship:

 

 **  Please note that your trip must be within 3 days (including the date of submission)

There is a 3 day window for other countries as well.  Sri Lanka has a 2 step process that the 2nd step has to be done within  3 days of arrival.  Singapore also requires an arrival card that must be applied for within 3 days of arrival.

That’s going to be fun on our upcoming Sri Lanka and Malaysia cruise that ends in Singapore 😭

Historically, X will email out port requirements (like visas) 30 days before the sail date which should include validated government URLs and basic instructions

We did get the e-mail.  It had one visa required for Indonesia.  However it does not include the digital arrival cards.  I think that these are required in Malaysia and Singapore...

Just got off a B2B with multiple countries requiring visas or arrival cards.  We did not get any detailed info from X on requirements.  We were told in emails that we were responsible for having the appropriate visas and on some we were directed to Visa Central if we wanted more guidance.  We have done other X sailing where visas were required and I don't recall ever getting anything as detailed as you received - and we have been to those same locations.
