Rare IntrepidFromDC Posted February 21 Author #276 Share Posted February 21 Fancy pants night. I'm going to dice my lobster and put it in the lobster bisque to improve it. Jeff's lobster chowder-bisque. Probably beef wellington for second entree. But that's it. They're not getting $5 out of me for a third entree, no sir.
Rare IntrepidFromDC Posted February 21 Author #277 Share Posted February 21 Dinner was good. Jeff's creation did not seem to improve the lobster bisque though. Beef Wellington was juicy and flavorful.
Rare IntrepidFromDC Posted February 21 Author #278 Share Posted February 21 It has been very bumpy the past 24 hours. I overslept so missed Seaday Brunch. Don't want to risk the disappointment of Lido soggy bacon or bacation day so I'll wait til lunch. Last night was another winner in the casino and I'm now up $945, which is my best casino experience since I won the $2,000 midnight drawing about 10 cruises ago. Something special about earning a free cruise from the casino while taking their money. 🏴☠️ 5

Good try!! 👨🍳

Rare IntrepidFromDC Posted February 22 Author #284 Share Posted February 22 Lido Marketplace lunch yesterday. The tofu was good. The beef was tough, and stringy whether I cut with or against grain. And chewy.
Rare IntrepidFromDC Posted February 22 Author #285 Share Posted February 22 Dinner last night. Branzino tasted off and the bbq sauce on it was not much different than ketchup. The clam chowder was pretty good. The kale and arugula salad was just spinach, I asked server and he said they were out of kale and arugula. Out of arugula on an Italian-themed ship. 😑

She was funny, knowledgable, talkative and constantly checked that the 4of us were happy with the AC. Next time in Dominica I would book this company without even checking competition. Was this a non Carnival excursion? When we stopped there years ago we were told there isn’t much to do and it was unsafe but you look like you had a great tour.

Her homemade rum punch was the best I had on the cruise. Lots of passion fruit sediment, you shook it up to mix it. Edit: forgot to mention, we arrived 1.5 hours late yet Tiffany was waiting for us cheerfully. Meeting point is right at the end of the pier. Rare IntrepidFromDC Posted February 23 Author #292 Share Posted February 23 Had sushi and $8 ramen at Bonsai Sushi. Both were good but far from great. I make much better ramen broth at home. Final tally in the casino: I won $465! Gambled til 1am, cashed out and got a pizza. Manhattan tomorrow!

Rare IntrepidFromDC Posted February 23 Author #294 Share Posted February 23 No pics allowed during debarkation, which went smoothly without any delays. There was a half hour between the self assist group and luggage group, I left my room in between. Terminal dumps out onto 48th, which is the street my hotel is on. Dropped off carryon and caught $18 taxi to Met after grabbing free coffee and English muffin in lobby.

Rare IntrepidFromDC Posted February 23 Author #296 Share Posted February 23 Metropolitan Museum of Art, NYC. I arrived at 950am and they open at 10. I waited for the doors to open along with others.
Rare IntrepidFromDC Posted February 23 Author #297 Share Posted February 23 So much to choose from, I stayed in my comfort zones, Greek, Etruscan, Roman and then European impressionist and post impressionist art.
