Edge reposition from HI to BC in May: Deluxe interior noise?

Recommended Posts

I am looking to book either a deluxe inside stateroom (DI) or an ocean view guarantee (Y - possible obstructed view). I've held 8214 (DI), but I'm a little worried about potential noise as a light sleeper. This is a reposition with plenty of sea days, so I tried to pick something towards the middle of the boat. Anyone able to give advice to a newbie please?

I don't know of any particular reason why that location would be of concern as there are staterooms above, below, and on either side across the hallway.  I also don't know what the blank areas around the stateroom are but that doesn't necessarily mean that the area would generate noise.  Perhaps someone else can confirm.

But if it were me and the budget was compatible, I would elect to take the OV Y GTY as I would rather have a window v interior, even with a possible partial obstruction.  But certainly none of the staterooms on deck 3 would be obstructed.

I would chose an OV guarantee over an inside especially with so many sea days. I prefer some view vs no view! Once assigned and based on availability you can always ask to have your cabin switched within the same category.

Have you sailed in an inside before? If you have and don’t mind the lack of natural light, 8214 should be quiet.

Amazing what you can find on Cruise critic when you search.

Thank you DaKahuna, but I did search with no luck until your post.

Pulled the trigger with your folks' sage advice and just paid for an ocean view guarantee.

Only challenge I'm having now is the add-ons, like specialty dining and Wi-Fi, are pretty spendy with very little discount, like 6% - 10% savings. I assume I just need to keep checking the portal daily for specials, but don't know if it's so late in the game with a May 1st sailing.
