All-aboard time on Princess?

I'm planning some DIY sightseeing on a future Princess Sun cruise in the Mediterranean.  On Princess, if the scheduled port time says, for example,  "7am to 7 pm," does that mean 7pm  is the all-aboard cutoff time I can bank on, or is the cutoff routinely earlier than the scheduled port time?  (Looking for answers from knowledge based on experience only, please.  Thanks!)

Generally all aboard is 30 minutes prior to your posted departure time. So in the case of 7 pm, all aboard would be 6:30 pm.

However, if you are tendering your all aboard time will generally be 60 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time.

We generally try to allow at least a 60 - 90 minute buffer in any event if we are doing a private tour.

7pm is the time the ship will leave with or without you. Only way it will wait a little longer is if a princess excursion is late getting back, they will then wait as long as they can.

As general rule:

For non-tender ports, all aboard is 30 minutes prior to published all departure time.

For tender ports,  all aboard is 1 hour prior to published departure time.  This is presumably so the tenders can be put away.

For turn around ports with continuing itineraries, such as those in the Med, all board is usually 1 hour prior to published departure time.  These would be ports like Barcelona, Athens, and Civitavecchia, where a large number of passengers are continuing their cruise and a large number are newly embarking passengers.

Refer to your Princess Patter for all aboard times for each port.

@IUSteve here’s a Time on The Sun currently in The Patter.

@CanadianBurger has a great Live thread, perhaps you could look there for the patter in the ports you desire for your DIY excursion. I know you say you only want experienced answers, but right now the Sun Princess is only on their second voyage.

If you are booked on an excursion through Princess the ship will wait for you even if there is an issue that causes the excursion to get back a bit late. If you are on a third party excursion and get back late you may find yourself waving goodbye to the ship as it sails away. Don't be late. Take the advice given above. The "all aboard" time will be given in the daily Patter, announced over the PA (multiple times), mentioned by the Cruise Director at any show in the theater the night prior to port, and also be mentioned on The Wake Show on the TV if you happen to watch that show. (It will be on around 10:00 PM every night but is actually a morning show that is "meant" to be watched first thing in the morning. The one at night is actually the one for the next morning.) In addition to all of these reminders there will be a sign where you exit the ship to remind you once again of the time to be back on the ship.
