wanted to use our 400 dollar onboard credit which we have from our deposit to buy the princess  plus package was told could not use it to upgrade,then I called princess and was told i could use the credit to buy it once on board for the same pre board price.Does anyone know or has done this know what is the policy?

You can't use the Casino deposit in advance - because it is considered exactly that, a deposit to hold your booking and you lose it if you cancel. Therefore, even thought it transfers to OBC once onboard, you can't use it in advance like other types of OBC. But you can definitely use it toward buying the packages once onboard so it should work just fine for you - there are plenty of crew just waiting and eager to sign you up for the package as soon as you step on the ship.

On boarding day there will be staff all over selling the plus and premier package. Just go to one of them and purchase the plus package. The charge will be posted to your on board account and will net against any OBC credits. Remember that the 1st and 2nd passengers in the cabin must have the same plus upgrade.

Princess excursions are the only items you can use OBC pre-cruise.
