What is the best way to get from our hotel near Times Square to Cape Liberty.

What’s your definition of “best”?  
 

You can combine the subway with Jersey Transit with an Uber or cab. Complicated but less expensive. 
 

You can arrange a car service at different price levels. Simple but more expensive. 
 

You can Uber. Similar to a car service. 
 

You can take a cab. Probably horribly overpriced and likely a truly crappy vehicle. 
 

What level of service do you want?

There's no 'best way". It depends on your preferences.

 

In order of decreasing cost:

 

Some might prefer a limo with a good bottle of champagne on ice.

 

I would go one step down from that and book a "black car" sedan from a reputable service such as Blacklane.

 

Others would go one step further down the transportation ladder and book an Uber of Lyft rideshare, or a car service such as Carmel Limo or Dial 7.

 

Least expensive would be a mass transit routing starting with PATH from 33rd St to the Newport Station in Jersey City, then changing to the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail, taking it to the 34th St. Station in Bayonne, and from there a taxi or Uber to Cape Liberty.

I like the idea of booking a “black car” sedan from a reputable service like Blacklane.

I’m wondering if I should have my TA get involved with this.

It would be a rare TA who would want to get mired in the details of local ground transportation.

No...it's very easy to do yourself at blacklane.com or on their smartphone app.
