Victoria, Butchart Gardens

Any suggestions for doing Butchart Gardens, other than with a cruise tour. The ship gets into Victoria at 7:30 pm. The tours I found on Viator begin in the morning..

You have very little time to view the gardens.  You have a chance in the peak season when the gates close at 10:00 p.m. from Wednesdays through Sundays  I have seen buses from the Empress Hotel that go there, but you wouldn't have enough time. A taxi would be the only practical way to get there.

What time of year?  If its June or July then it will be light enough for you to see the flowers.  However I caution you that its a 45 minute drive from where the ship docks and taxis don't wait out at the Gardens for people so you need to add in waiting time for a taxi to get out there to pick you up.

 

Assuming the ship is leaving at midnight, I really think you don't have the time for the Gardens.  Stay in town and wander into the Inner Harbour area, grab a local brew at one of the many pubs in the area and just relax.
