ugobon59 Posted June 29 #1 Share Posted June 29 Anyone ever been this time of year? Should I pack heavyweight coats, gloves and hats?
stobe1 Posted June 29 #2 Share Posted June 29 No. No one has ever been. You will be the trailblazing first one. As for heavy coats. No. Dont take your snow jacket that you plow your driveway with in January. Dress in layers and be prepared for 80 degrees or 60 degrees that time of year. A shirt, sweater and light jacket/windbreaker should suffice. I am in southeast Alaska all the time for work and you will be there at the best time of year for optimal weather. Rare jimbo5544 Posted June 29 #3 Share Posted June 29 We have done three Alaska cruises in July. It is the top if their season and ports may be busy. The inside passage is a rainforest (nota tropical rainforest) and there is fairly good chance you will get some weather, so keep that ion mind. For us, layers are the key. It will be a great cruise, enjoy it.
Rare Ferry_Watcher Posted June 29 #4 Share Posted June 29 Layering with the thought of possible cool wet weather. Rain should be your concern, not cold weather.
csm5986142 Posted June 30 #5 Share Posted June 30 We were on an Alaska cruise the first week of August last year and the weather was incredibly nice. We were wearing tank tops and shorts. However, it is so unpredictable that a cruise the following week had such bad weather/rain/flooding that excursions were canceled. You just never know. We are on luminosa now (we were in Juneau today) and it was cool but mild - we were more than comfortable in jeans and sweatshirts. It's predicted to be a high of 68 degrees tomorrow in Skagway.
