On the Sun last December, a few ladies pestered the piano player for hours to do Rudolph the Red Noise Reindeer during the sing-a-long. Eventually he gave in, and guess how quickly these ladies had reindeer antlers on?

What a hoot! I anticipated red clown noses, but not the antlers.:D

Friday March 31 Roatan

Ship would dock a little later in the morning so it was good to get a work out in and breakfast at the garden. Not rushed to get off today so it was fun watching everything going on in our port side balcony. Good local entertainment on the dock this morning.

Did the Jolly Roger catamaran excursion today. A nice ride on the seas to the west side of the island to enjoy some snorkeling. No free rum before we went in the water. This was a good thing. By the time we entered Jumbalina Park, I was pretty looped. Double fisting carabbean rum is fun, but taxing. Had a wonderful time with the birds and monkeys in the park. Those monkeys make good pick pockets! Stole Karen's sunglasses. What a hoot. Good lunch on board. Also had free beer as well. Had a couple to confirm that they were good!

Did some shopping near the pier. Roatan was not as poor as I thought it was going to be. In fact, this was one of our favorite stops. Karen got her diamond ring, thanks to some help of me and, mostly, Sharon. Thanks to Tom for keeping me company whilst the destruction took place inside the shop. Happy Anniversary, DEAR! Hope you enjoy 'YOUR PRECIOUS':D

Ate at La Trattoria tonight for dinner. Still alittle foggy from all of the Rum. Food was good and the service was nice. Got a visit from the AHD, Antonio, and we had a nice chat. I agree with Captn that the senior staff was very visible and open to talking to whomever wanted to converse.

Not sure how we ended the evening, but I'm sure pirate and Alex were involved!!! Probably ran into R Heal and conversed in some Trailer Park Boys talk. That was always fun, and never boring.:D

Time seems to be slipping away. Please slow down.

Saturday April 1 Belize
.

We needed to get off early onto the tenders this morning to get on our private Zipline tour. Ate a quick breaky at the Garden (still good potatoes and omlettes! Ice cold milk. Happy man!!!) and off to the Stardust with Kieran and the Brits to sneek off with a ship excursion. They were about to ask for our excursion tixs when they got distracted and we flew through security and onto the tender. No problem, mon!!!:D

Took the NCQ adventures tour with Nacho and Cynthia. I will post a full review on the Belize thread later. The short end of it: Wonderful. Just as advertised and we got lots of ziping and caving without having to wait. Thanks to Kieran, Andrew, Deborah and Mark for a wonderful day. Standing atop the third zip, 85 ft up in the air, was thrilling if not scary.

I left DW to shop with Deborah on the pier (that's another story I am not qualified to tell). Went to NY deli and had a "you know what" and then had a quick swim. We did not spend that much time up on Oasis deck this trip. Next time on the Dawn, we will spend more time there.

Sat on my balcony and drank a beer. Too bad that we did not use the balcony more. Whatever time I did spend on there, I did enjoy!;)

Went down to the Pearly King's again for some trivia, singing and general Tom Foolery (now why wasn't that term used more often?).

Met up with Tom and Sharon and ate at Impressions. I enjoyed the atmosphere here a lot. It was my favorite of the main dining rooms. Tom was right about the service. They just could not get the orders completely right. Again, coffee after we ate our dessert. Still, good company, good food. What else do you really need?

This was the night that the original TOGA was to occur, for Paul's B day, but it did not quite fall into place. Had a small party at Laurel's anyway to celebrate Paul's b day. Happy 49th , Paul!!! Looking forward to celebrating 50 with you next year!

Lots of fun, as usual. I was astounded at how little wind there was on the bow balcony. Great for star gazing as well!!

Time change tonight. Spring forward. DOH!:(

Sunday April 2 Cozumel

Got up early to catch the early tender onto the island. Had to go size 'THE PRECIOUS" before we hit our excursion. Apparently I did not follow instructions properly and I got the ol' can of T-Rex opened on me from CallMeLucky (DW). Tom, Sharon and I laughed. Never get between your wife and the sizing of her ring!:D

Got onto the island and found out hat the shop where the ring was to be properly fitted was too far away from our excursion point. Had to do it later.

Did the Playa Mia Deluxe beach break, which included an open bar and lots of beach activities. The island is still recovering for the hurricane last fall, but Playa Mia was in pretty good shape. Lots of fun here and the 'ritas were good. Have come to the conclusion that we can book all of our tours privately on our next cruise.

We missed our bus back to the pier and took a taxi back into town ($15). Got the PRECIOUS sized and took some pics. Bought some "Oakley's" for $10. They lasted 3 days before they broke. At least it was better than my Rolix!

I boarded the ship to shower and returned to Carlos and Charlie's for a beer with some of the gang. Wynn, you were pretty funny with the shooter girl. Some good pics!.

Boarded the ship to return to the Pearly King's for a little you know what. Man, I sure do turn into a creature of habit.

Ate at Salsa's tonight, even though we did not have a reservation. They justy said "you need a ressy", marked us down, crossed it out, and sat us at the rail closest to the cafe. Watched Best of Friends play once again. I'm sure they thought "Cripes, there is that guy again. Can't we shake him? Just smile and wave to him, and maybe he will go away"

Great food and service here. Jennifer did a wonderful job and the food was spicy, just how we like it.

Met up with Natalie and Andre for a little hot tubbing tonight. Enjoyed the port that Andre brought along. Closed down the pool tonight and off to bed again.

Time change ahead again tonight. DOH!

Just back from our favorite pub...out for some beer & wings!!! Not Pearly King's but it was fun!

Paul (not Fundy Girl)

Hey,

I did not know that the Trailer Park had a pub. Did Julian open up his place again? Did you run into Leahy and Randy? :D

You guys must still be laughing at all of the stuff you did. Paul, there isn't a picture yet of you that I have seen that you didn't have this big s*** eating grin on your face. I laugh at every one.

Thanks for the call last Sunday. It was good talking to you guys!!!

Talk to you soon.

Dawn 04/01/07 for you guys???

Nah, on the Holiday sailing those guys were great. As I said before, the lead singer, he saw me at Karaoke on like the first or second night. He then made a point of being there a few more times. And I can't even sing well... heh. Very friendly bunch of guys.

Those guys really rocked!:D They were so much fun to sing along with, even though I did not know the words to too many of the Letterman's hits that they sang. (Who the heck are the Lettermen?)

Seeing you brought this up, they should hear my side of the story. We put our hats and backpack down at a table and then got into line for breakfast. I went and sat with our stuff and waited, and waited, and waited for you know who to show up. Finished breakfast and found him in the next section over eating with Tom & Sharon. 15 minutes later when he found me on the tender he still had no recollection of dumping his pack on a chair. And he wonders why I had to unleash the unibrow! Girls - don't leave home without it!

Busting into a great thread...It's sounds as though you're all having a great time. I will be boarding the Dawn on Sunday. What time is the trivia and "sing along" at Pearly King's? Enjoy !!

Susan

Trivia was at 6:15. Sing-a-long went on before that. The trivia was a progressive trivia, where you had a team, and the points were cumulative throughout the cruise. Prizes were awarded on the last day. (Cruisin' Fools won :D )

Enjoy the Dawn. It is a great ship.

OMG, I died laughing when I read Bunnies description. I knew there had to be a good story behind it!! :p Your advice is taken and the unibrow already on my packing list for the next trip. ;) Although DH might tell you that I don't need it on the list as I never leave home without it!

Fried eggs for breakfast and yes the toast is still hot enough to melt the butter! :D

Off to the famous Paradise Beach for the day. Wave Runner $55 1/2 hour great course for riding, spent less than 10 min in the seat, however any trace of 'roids are now gone! Beach is great, did not attempt any snorkeling. In addition to wave runners they have bannana boat rides and parasailing right from the beach. Food was excellent, prices are a bit high but the beach and facilities are clean, and free of any rif-raf.

Into town for a few of those $1 beers, met some other FOOLS drinking $8 margaritas at Carlos and Charlies, I'll stick with the $1 beers thank you.

Back on board, pit stop at Pearly Kings, sing-along and some quick trivia. The lettermen are playing tonight, hey which one is A?

Dinner at Venetian, excellent steak with mushroom sauce. Service was good and prompt. No problem with seating for the group.

Some Karaoke, and other follies at Dazzles and a stop at Spinnaker. Good thing tomorrow is a sea day.

**************************************

Omlette today, prepared just right.

Sun on the deck, listen to some music and rest ..... not!

Water volley ball got skunked .... oh well we tried.

Lunch, the biggest BLT ever at NY Deli. Ummm.

Time for sing-a-long at the Kings, and maybe a few trivia questions.

Dinner at Tatotria, chicken parm. Not the best I ever had but far from the worse. Service was great, if you want to eat here ... reservations are a must, books fast!

Trip to the casino, machines are tight and the craps table is empty

Dazzles and Spinnaker for a few drinks, the musical entertainment on the ship ( Best of Friends and Modal Magic ) is some of the best I have ever heard on a ship.

Mel, don't forget the 10:15 a.m. trivia!

Not that I could think that early in the morning.........

But I do have a vague recollection of wandering down, meeting....someone....and coming back to the room with another keychain.

Right, I remembered that after I posted the other time. We didn't always make that one. And we know which was the important one, anyway.;)

Canadiennes -

What is a unibrow?

Down here it's a slang term for Middle Easterners, particularly Persians, because of the single eyebrow most of the men (and some women) seem to sport.

I had a visual of you guys smacking Darcy or Craig with a small Arab in djellabah and burnoose while his camel looked on, concerned. :p

Note to day 9, Another Martini Clinic .... should have went to the margarita clinic instead. This one was not as good as the first. Too many clinics too little time

***************************

GSC, no time for breakfast, quick cup of in-room coffee not too bad but not great either, must be the water.

Day at the beach, snorkeling is okay lots of fish but nothing major. Beach volleyball with some fools and new friends, careful the "court" has some major rocks. Too late for lunch, I don't know what time they stopped serving but it was long before I was hungry! For all you shoppers, not much here and prices are up there, ahhh they finally realized they have a captive audiance.

Back to the ship to get ready for the evening, worse piece of pizza I have ever had, but the Pastrami with all the fixins was wonderful.

Pearly Kings for a bit of Sing-A-Long and a quick beer. No trivia tonight, these people are getting too serious for me.

Dinner at Impressions, much better the second time around. Interesting Pork Loin with mystery sauce. Service was good, but not outstanding.

Now its TOGA TIME! Get dressed and head for the Pirates for a bit of yukaflux before invading the ship. Off to the Pub Crawl at Pearly Kings, all 15 of us, after the mutliple "pub" stops, including some TOGA karaoke then back to pirates for more yukaflux (watch out for the fruit .... it's a killer) Needless to say it was a long night, but a great night.

*****************************************

Start back to reality ..... NOT

Fried Eggs on a English with a touch of Bacon.

Bit on the chilly side today, no outside activities  . Into the casino for a bit machines are colder than the weather, this is no fun.

Lunch at the Garden, a nice BLT with as much of the ingredients as you want, on a wonderful grinder roll.

Off to the big drawing for the free cruise, first number no one answers, second number no one answers again, THIRD TIME IS THE CHARM ... WE WIN! WE WIN! WE WIN! Made my day.

Off to the King for some afternoon delight.

Sing_A_LONG but no Trivia today.

Dinner at Aqua for 30 of my best friends, Prime Rib was cooked to perfection, tender and tasty. Service was excellent. Fitting ending to a magnificent cruise.

Thanks to all my new friends for making this a cruise to remember. Special thanks to the Pirate and Charlie for being such gracious hosts. It was a blast. Hope we can top it in April

*****************************************

Side notes,

If you have dinner with a large group and you elect to enjoy your favorite libation(s) keep an eye on your ship board account. We had a couple of occasions where we picked up extra charges even though we only signed one receipt. Wasn't a big deal to me because we were with great friends, now if I was with my in-laws .......

This is one thing I missed on NCL that is available on other lines, no interactive access to your on-board account. Kind of a pain in the rear on the last day to stand in line for corrections, and the last thing I want to be doing on vacation is running off to check my bill, hey there are Clinics, pub crawls, Toga Parties and sing-alongs to tend to! Gotta have your priorities straight. :D

I would also like to know who the poor sucker is that has to muddle through the thousands of towel receipts so they can potentially charge someone the outrageous $25 for some old thread-bare beach towel.

Tell me they don't really do this

Well enough of this, gotta go start planning my next foolish adventure.

Life's too short don't take it so seriously!

Monday April 3 Sea Day (Thank, God!)

Finally got to sleep in late. This has turned out to be a 'working vacation'.

Ate b-fast with a nice German couple today (Stephie and Oliver) at the Garden. I went to Dazzles for the Latitudes reception and purchased the gold plan. Not sure if we would be able to use the resort credit, but we will use the hotel credit so it works out to getting $700 worth of product for $500, plus the benefits of being a gold latitudes member.

I worked out, showered, and headed down to the Art auction where we proceeded to drop a pretty penny. We bought 3 Dalis, an Ishtov and a Boulanger. Will now have to add onto the house to hang them all.

Went to the martini clinic after the auction. I have to say that the magurita clinic was better (better atmosphere). Since both of the clinics were scheduled at the same time today, decided to go to the Martini one.

Had a quick swim after the clinic and got ready for our anniversary dinner at Le Bistro. I had the filet with bearnaise and again it was wonderful. Good service. Had my first piece of cheescake on board today. Very good!:D We had the house red for dinner (merlot) and it was good. I prefer a good cabernet to a merlot, though. I know you can upgrade the wine you get from the anniversary package but we decided that we spent enough money today.

Tryed to enter a team on Family Feud in the lounge tonight but we were never called. Caught Al Ducharme's act in the Stardust. He was funny as well, but his child like sounds went on too long. Reminded us of what was waiting for us when we got back home.;)

OMG, this was a busy day. We then caught the crew talent show in the spinnaker lounge. It really is quite entertaining. This was one of the best shows that we had seen. We never did make it to south beach or bollywood so we can't comment on those shows.

The famous chocoholic buffet was on tonight. I can honestly say that it will not be a priority for me to do this again. The chocolate is good, but the selection seemed to be down from last year. Did get a large glass of cold milk to wash it all down!

We finally ended the evening back at the Spinnakers for the south beach rave party. Had my mojito or two, a really foamy draft beer that took 5 minutes to pour (no kidding) and some laughs.
