electrical convertor or adaptor

Please can someone advise. I am travelling from South Africa an need to buy an adaptor. We are on Galaxy. Do I need an American or European Adaptor? If American we are on 220V? Another question. do they have 3 pin plugs or only 2 pin?

Mindyme - First American standard voltage is 120V with the exception of probably your Cloth Dryer and Stove which is 220V.

 

All of Celebrity ships have both 120V and 220V. Many people bring along a powerstrip as there are a limited number of outlets. The 220 plug is the Contintal two round pin plug shown in figure C or E in the suggested sight

 

If you need a voltage converter while off the ship you should first look at your electric device and it will tell what voltage it will operate under. Many camcorders, cameras and laptops of today are dual voltage and will be specified with a marking something like INPUT 100-240V (meaning that it will take anything from 100 to 240 Volts)
