We are on the Spirit stopping in Miami. I would appreciate it if you could tell

me how close South Beach is to the ship terminal.

Would appreciate any info.

I've gone a few times. It's no more than a 15-minute cab ride. With tip, it's a little more than $20.

However, be careful with those M iami cabs. I honestly believe there is corruption going on with those meters.

The same trip to South Beach and Parrot Jungle differs by several dollars each time, with the exact same traffic pattern. Very, very weird.

I can't prove it. If I lived down there, I would probably contact authorities or the Miami Herald.

But, anyway, be prepared to see the meter range between $17 and $23 when you go to South Beach.

I will say it is worth it. It's a beautful Beach. In the winter, be careful. You can get burned easily from the strong sun.

South Beach has done a 360 degree turn-around. I remember vacationing there with my parents when I was a kid, and it was basically a place for older retired people. The artsy-styled hotels were there, and we stayed at the Carlyle.

Now it a real hot spot. A place for the young to see & be seen. Miami Beach was a fantastic playground then, and still is.

Just did 3days pre -cruise in early April. A great place to "people watch", can walk to just about everything you need, beautiful beach, great shopping, don't miss Lincoln Road. Hotels can be a little pricey, but there are bargains to be had. We stayed on Collins Ave,pretty much in the heart of it all for under $100/nite. HAVE FUN!

South Beach is less than five miles to the heart of Ocean Drive. What would you like to do in South Beach? Other areas are further away.
