I am so glad to hear you enjoyed your cruise especially after all the adverse reports prior to your departure.

Yes cruising does get under skin. I am on the Galaxy on the 5th May and this will just be my 2nd T/A but I enjoyed the previous one and I love all the sea days.

Getting ready now to start the packing as I live in the UK and leave home at 6am Friday. Will stay over in Houston on Friday night. It will just be a short hop home from Rome on the 22nd.

Keep reading the boards and looking for good offers they are out there to be had!

The 4/17 Mexican Riviera on the Mercury was our first cruise. It was such a wonderful experience that we're hooked on cruising. I will be a permanent fixture on these boards.:D

Welcome to cruising. You reminded me of my fisrt cruise it was our 25th anniversary and my wife wanted to take a cruise. I was not for the idea but felt if she put up with me for 25 years I would suffer and take her on a cruise.

Like you we took a Mexican Riviera on a Sitmar ship (cruise line no longer around). I was so hooked taht when we came back I went to my travel agent and booked another on Royal caribbean.

From not wanting to take any cruises I have since taken well over 30. My wife no longer has to talk me into a cruise I jump at everyoen I can afford and have time to take.

Welcome aboard. You should try Alaska, preferably NB or SB, not Inside Pass Rd trip for the awesome scenery and the cruise experience is icing on the cake.:D So do some lurking on the AK board to get all the tips. May and Sept are discount periods for AK. We're doing our 1st land tour after cruise in early June. Bon Voyage

We're following your lead twelveohone! First cruise was Song of Norway, 33 years ago! Have sailed Fairsea, Fairwind, Fairsky and on and on.....Tomorrow we leave on number 37! Getting down to the wire here, we fly out at 7pm California time tonight! Welcome to greydog! This is the only addiction that just hurts your bank account! LOL........I haven't found a cure for it yet!

Wow! It's so impressive to see that long list of cruises you've taken over the years, Twelveohone. I hope to one day have a list like yours. And Julieanne....37 cruises! That is incredible!

Greydog, we are going to check out cruises to Alaska. Thanks for the tip. Have fun in June.

Keela, I'd like to know where to go to find the best prices for cruises. We won't be able to go on another one until next year, though. Have a nice trip.

We went on our first cruise in 1990 for our honeymoon. It was my wife's idea (girlfriend at the time). She had to talk me into it. I thought, cruise?, who wants to be stuck out in the middle of the ocean with nothing to do for all that time? Well, we went and we loved it. She created a cruising monster. We've been on 12 more since then with two more already booked. We're still in our 40's so we expect to be cruising for quite a few more years.

My husband thought the same thing. He was worried that there wouldn't be anything to do. He's now an official cruising monster, too.

Welcome to the family!

I haven't gotten this quoting thing down yet. I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually. Anyway, thanks, Pam. I'm happy to be here. I just can't believe how addicted I got after only one cruise. I feel like I'm having cruise withdrawals. :D

I'm afraid I suffer from the same addiction. :D We took a cruise for our honeymoon several years ago, then didn't take another until last summer. Our decision to try another cruise wasn't a good fiscal decision! :o We sailed on Infinity to Alaska in June. Since then, we've taken 2 other X cruises & have 3 more booked. I've also got my eye on a Bermuda cruises this fall. My poor DH has to work really hard to support my addiction. :p

I had to laugh when I read the last two posts. As my husband left for work this morning, he said, "I have to work really hard now to earn the money for our next cruise." He spent a lot of time tonight checking out future cruises.

MLT,

It's so bad that we are booked up till Feb, 2008!

It really is an addiction, isn't it? It's funny because I had a longstanding fear of ever going on a cruise. I saw the Titanic movie at an impressionable age. Now, I feel like I may someday need cruisaholics anonymous. j/k

I'm happy that I have this new passion in my life. I wonder if one really rough cruise would destroy that? We met a couple on our cruise who'd been on a ship during a hurricane. They talked about the enormous waves hitting the ship and described how the ship went from side to side for three or four days. They said that people could barely stand up without holding onto the walls. They're still cruising, though. That impressed me.

Pam

Opps. Sorry it took me so long to reply.

We don't know for sure where we're going next, but we are almost certain we'll go on Celebrity. It was so much fun!
