Westerdam Alaska

We will be sailing on Westerdam 6/25 (yeah!!) and I expect 2 formal nights, but I thought I saw somewhere in these threads that the infomal nights had been cancelled and all the rest of the Alaska nights were casual.

Could some kind soul who just finished Westerdam to Alaska straighten me out?

Thank you very much.

Ditto for the May 28th cruise - 2 formal, 1 informal, remainder casual.

Have fun!!

June 11 Westerdam cruise:

Night 1 = casual

Night 2 = formal

Night 3 = casual

Night 4 = casual

Night 5 = informal

Night 6 = formal

Night 7 = casual

Note that most dressed far less formal on the second formal night than on the first.

Hope this helps.

What do we wear for the informal nights as compared to the formal nights?

What do we wear for the informal nights as compared to the formal nights?

For men it fairly easy.

Formal is tuxedo/dinner jacket, or dark suit, or coat and tie will meet the code.

Informal is coat, tie optional.

Casual is slacks and shirt.

Women is always trickier.

Formal is fancy duds. A long gown-type dress, ball gown, New Year's Eve ads-type of clothes. Mother of the Bride-type outfit.

Big diamonds.

Informal would be a dressy dress---might be shorter length. A cocktail dress, maybe. Something you'd wear to a nice wedding when you like the bride (and want her to like you). Sunday best-type of outfit.

Pearls.

Casual is a kind of put-together look.

Costume jewelry.
