Rare Smokeyham Posted July 20, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 20, 2006 Hello, I was wondering if anyone has taken a RSSC cruise through the Panama Canal, and if you can advise me if men were wearing suits on the cruise, or if it is OK just to wear a sports jacket and tie on formal and non-formal nights? Thanks for any help. Gordon
HomeLover Posted July 20, 2006 #2 Share Posted July 20, 2006 Here I am, again. Gordon, my feeling has always been, as well as my experience on Regent, abide by their guidelines for dress. If there is a formal night, wear a suit and tie or a tux; on informal, a blazer without a tie is fine.

HomeLover, Thanks for all of the responses :) I agree that it's best to follow the ship's guidelines. From all of the posts it sounds like there will be some formal nights on the Mariner's Panama cruise, so a suit will be packed. Gordon
mrlevin Posted July 20, 2006 #4 Share Posted July 20, 2006 I would definitely take a tux or at least a dark suit. We had three formal nights on our Panama Canal cruise. Marc
jhp Posted July 20, 2006 #5 Share Posted July 20, 2006 I was on the Canal cruise over New Year's Eve, there were three formal nights planned, and as I remember they added a 4th for NYears Eve by popular demand (it was to be a "black and white" evening with no code). Everyone dressed up. You don't have to bring a tux, but definitely a dark suit.
