Venice...Danieli or Europa Regina

I have one night free at either. Which would be the better hotel? Better location?

 

From what I've read I don't think I could go wrong at either.

You are so right, they are both in great locations and are run by Sheraton. I think the Danielli is a bit more expensive but other than that I think you need to draw straws to decide.

I like the Europa Regina just seems less crowded than the Danieli,

The Danieli is just about a half block on the water from San Marco Square. Since you have WON your choice I would select the more expensive Danieli to enhance the value of your good fortune.

Not quite a WON....had to spend many a lonely night in a hotel room away from home.... but I'm not turning down the rewards ;)

We stayed at the Europa Regina a few years ago and LOVED it! We were fortunate to have a small suite right on the canal! The staff was wonderful, the breakfast was superb and the location was just a few blocks from SM. The Danielle is larger and less intimate than the ER. But, as above posters said, you can't go wrong with either choice!
