Barbados Ho Hum

We will be taking the Windsurf this January for the southbound cruise from Barbados. Am I the only one who thinks that Barbados is tremendously overrated?? I would love some suggestions on where to stay pre or post cruise. I stayed near the Gap area last time and maybe I need to stay in a different area. I found the island itself bland and the people tremendously sullen.

Try renting a car and getting lost a few times. I got help from many people and no sulleness; eventually, I "rented" a rasta guy who got me to Crane Beach which was wild, wonderful and deserted. I think there is much to recommend the Island, but I don't know the type of hotel/resort you would wanjt to stay at.

we stayed last year in the "gap area" southern palms beach club, not too bad, but we rented a car and drove to holetown on the west coast,

much nicer water, and beaches, and some pretty nice hotel properites...

might want to try there???

Are you on the Jan. 14 departure?

 

We've booked two separate hotels for our pre and post cruise stays.

Thanks for your comments. Pudgesmom, we are on the Jan. 28 cruise. Don't know where to start in terms of hotels. I am not fussy, just would like a decent place that doesn't cost $1000 a night.
