HAL Pricing Vs. Princess - OUCH

Holy cow...is this normal. We were looking at South America via the Panama Canal....Now these are website prices so I'm sure there's deals, but that goes both ways. Princess is for 2007, HAL is for 2008 but I can't see the prices going up that much.

Princess is heavily discounting the price for this March 1/07 cruise as it is not selling well. I've watched it go down quite a bit in the last few months. We are very flexible as to when we can travel thus can pick up sell off so we tend to wait for them. Balcony cabins are usually not sold off on Regal since they are so few of them on this ship. We got email offering us 12 nites cruise, high category inside for $899 and ocean view for $998 per person and if you booked as BTB for 24 nites, it was even cheaper.

The Statendam balconies are really the equivelent of a mini suite. Very nice cabin and big balcony.

 

And, I bet if you hunt around a little, you can get a better deal.

We've only cruised HAL once, on the Westerdam ~ but found the prices to be quite competitive with Princess.

I just found our Mariner magazine in the mail today and it does have some very good pricing for HAL. I checked twice, but don't see the Fort Lauderdale to Lima itineary advertised. I did look for you though, sorry!
