Emdee Posted January 18, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 18, 2007 Are Aft Balconies larger on Nautica? Should I instead book a midship?
ECCruise Posted January 18, 2007 #2 Share Posted January 18, 2007 Are Aft Balconies larger on Nautica?Should I instead book a midship? Stateroom is exactly the same size. Balconies are a bit larger (2 ft. or so deeper, depending on the deck). Pretty good location, vibration only a minor concern.
JonconOH Posted January 22, 2007 #3 Share Posted January 22, 2007 We had a rear balcony on the Regatta to the Amazon. It was deeper than the side balconies, so we could have more guests over for pre-dinner drinks. The only drawback was that we had smoke and fumes from the stack on the balcony a few days. We are trying to get the forward facing cabins next cruise.

Ask4Jay Posted January 25, 2007 #5 Share Posted January 25, 2007 Emdee - They are indeed larger than the side balconies, but the part below the railing is solid steel. In other words, you cannot lie in bed and see the water, you'll have to sit up. But if you value some generous private outdoor space, an aft balcony can't be beat. That little picture below of our Regatta balcony on deck 6 will give you some idea of the size. For more pictures of (and from) an aft balcony you may want to go to www.juergen.smugmug.com and look for Trans Atlantic MAR 06.
