I saw that you can rent formal attire on board. Does that include womens' dresses? Has anyone ever done that?

My DW hasn't, but I can give you prices on the Ladies' garments: black velvet or crepe skirt (long) $30. Gold, glitter, or black velvet blouse $20. Black shoes $12. I have no idea if that's for the whole cruise or for a single night. :)

It's for the entire cruise. The formalwear is picked up on the day following the last formal evening.

It's fine for all of the men to be in the same black tux, but most gals don't want to wear what 25 other gals are wearing - that's what SHE said.

the formal wear must be preordered on line and is waiting for you in your cabin when you arrive--- minor alterations will be taken care of by your cabin attendant --- have rented on my last 2 cruises and i will never carry a suit on board again

I have ordered both the shoes and the crepe skirt. I have been very pleased with them and ordered them on more than one cruise. It need NOT be pre-ordered although it is recommended. Twice I have forgotten to order the shoes and both times I was easily able to order them on-board. Perhaps because the mens tuxes need to be fitted they must preorder.

 

If something you order does not fit they will exchange it for another skirt or blouse. They do not alter womens clothing. At least it wasn't available for me. Hope this helps.

Several years ago we ordered a tux for my husband.

 

The pants were about six inches too long and no one on the ship would help us with the problem.

 

We ended up in a long ordeal with the credit card company, with the outcome not to our favor.

$50 for the skirt and blouse? Way to much - the outlet stores offer much better bargains. Resale stores also offer better bargains. Both offer a variety where you don't look like everyone else. And $12 for shoes? Well they can't possibly have shoes for my wierd foot so they must be sized for people who can walk into any shoe store and find shoes that fit so why not buy a cheap pair that only you have worn. On the other hand, tuxes for the men - might work.
