Home from a great Spirit cruise....but one question?

We're just back today from the Spirit after an absolutely awesome cruise! I'll post a full review in a day or so but for now.....a question for you New Yorkers. This morning (Sunday, March 13) there were hundreds of police officers assembled on W 40th St. Does anyone know what was going on? We're very intruigued.:confused:

This might be just a guess - as I'm not from New York :) - but I heard on the news that the St. Patrick's Day parade had to be cancelled due to the winter storm...it might be that they held it today?

The St. Patty's Day Parade wasn't cancelled. It was held yesterday. My guess is that it was the war protest.

 

To the OP: welcome back. Glad to hear that you had an excellent cruise. A good friend of mine was on the same sailing and was sending me daily emails. She also had a great time.

Like others have said, the police activity was for the local protest to mark the 4th anniversary of the war.
