My cruise consultant just called me. Nice military discount going on now for the April 26th,2008. sailing out of FT. LAUDERDALE on the Carnival Liberty. 8 day cruise. Nice itinerary.

Im so jealous, I need a cruise for next spring. Military rates are so darn good, wish I could get them. I dont think they would take me into the military though, darn. too old :)

Given today's global political climate, ya never know. There may be a spot for you to serve at least two years in one of the service branches.

I've seen the 8 day military rate for $600+ for an 8A balcony guarantee so am gonna hold out

That's a very nice savings!

I can't do the guarantee because I need 2 rooms together, mid ship and next to an elevator because one of our guest has trouble walking. I can't take a chance we wouldn't get it.

I was scouring the boards today (as usual) and came upon this thread. DH and I had just booked 3 cabins a week ago through Costco travel. My FIL is retired military and is traveling with us, so on top of the Costco discount - he received the military discount (we received the Costco discount and Past Guest Discount). I called this AM to see if we could get this friends & families discount on the 2 rooms that we were not able to get it on when we 1st booked them. After being on hold for quite some time...we were able to! Yeah!

 

Here is what we're paying for a Spirit sailing, 8 day, Mexican Riviera, 1-1-08: The prices I'm giving are for the cabin - not per person...

Cat. 11 Aft wrap around: $2162 (for 2 pax -originally $2878 w/out any disc.)

Cat. 8c balcony: $1566 (for 2 pax - originally $2000 w/out any disc.)

Cat. 8a balcony: $1989 (for 3 pax -originally $2357 w/out any disc.)

 

Total savings with Costco discount and military discount: $1520

 

THis is our 1st cruise we've ever booked...I hope we did well! :confused: :o

The military code is MMM. I have never gotten to work on the website. I think you have to call Carnival and then fax them a copy of your DD214.

WOW. The Spirit Military rates are so much better than the Liberty 8 day cruise rate around the same time.

 

I'm paying $682+ $682 (originally $749+80.52) and $399 + 80.52 for a 4A inside guarantee. I'm questioning the fact too that a month ago I was given the same exact quote for an inside cabin on the empress deck. I need to call back tomorrow.
