Brooklyn transport options

Recommended Posts

We are coming from West coast to either EWR or LGA. Apparently Super Shu\ttle does not go to the Brooklyn terminal unless whole van is ordered. What other options exist besides just taking a taxi. If taxi is the last resort what is the approx fare from either airport. Thanks in advance. WAVTAM

wavtam when are u sailing?

Car services have been recommended by others--$45 from JFK, less from LGA to Red Hook. We are staying at the Marriott Brooklyn precruise I was quoted $45 by 3 different car services.

I don't know why a taxi would be a last resort except from EWR. A cab from Kennedy will cost anywhere from $45.-70 depending on which way they go(its only a set fare into Manhattan). From LGA it will be in the $30-35 range depending on traffic. As someone on the Princess board stated it took them 30 minutes from the Pier to LGA. From EWr the cab is in the $70-80 range. Most reliable car services(not the executive car rip offs) will charge $40 from LGA $45.00 from JFK and EWR. plus tolls and any tip(from LGA and Kennedy no tolls)...

During rush hour this morning it took about 1 hour to drive from LGA to Metropolitan Avenue. There was an accident around the Brooklyn Bridge and it was backed up to Queens Blvd. Under ideal conditions it would normally be about 15 minutes to the Port from Metropolitan Avenue. This is not an everyday event (and it was rush hour), but sad to say, it's not uncommon (3 times in the past two weeks there was a major backup). :( Chances are this won't happen, but you have to be a bit of a gambler to take a cab

1. Avoid the rush hour.

2. Most people going to the ship don't go during the rush hour.

3. The rush hour is always crowded.

Accidents can happen anytime leave plenty of time.

Arecibo's number is 7187836465. They don't have a website. Carmel has a website with coupons.
