We were in Civitivecchia today and Disney Magic seemed to have major problems with a propeller and was blocking the berth for Celebrity Galaxy. Anyone hear of this?

Are you on the Galaxy or the Magic? I just checked the blog of a couple who is on the Magic right now. They've updated their blog to include their Rome excursion, and there wasn't any mention of any mechanical problems.

We were on the Galaxy and we were delayed over two hours landing as the Magic was at our disembarkation pier. we heard they had to move her to another pier to allow us to disembark (last day of our cruise unfortunately). We saw them tow a large work platform next to the side/stern of the Magic before we left for home. Apart from any problems she may have, she certainly was a beautiful ship.

She made it to La Spezia so it looks like they got the repairs done.

You should check out some pictures of the inside of the ship if you get a chance. She really is beautiful!

Enjoy your trip!

By "work platform". Did you mean something in the water. If so was it a flat looking barge with very little on the deck. If so, it could have been a refueling barge. Wouldn't have explained the late departure though.

interesting, we noticed we were turned around by a tug when we left. We were gone all day so were not there to see any other ships come in.

I spoke to a very good friend on the magic - there are no problems at all. The incident that is mentioned above was seemingly because the magic was told to dock at the wrong peir, and had to move. It happens.
