Anyone know about - Riu Caribe?

My cousin stayed there last year and loved it. I have been looking it up and read MANY reviews on trip adviser online. Goggle it with riu caribe - trip advisor - some reviews have great pics included. Some are negative, but most are positive. The pool area and beach look awesome.

Thanks to both of you that responded, and Congrats on the win! My son and future-daughter-in-law just purchased their honeymoon to R.C. a day or so ago. They will be going in mid-September. Sounds very promising for them!

Glad to hear good things about RIU Caribe. DH won a vacation to there from work and we're going on October 23rd. Can't wait! We've never done an all inclusive vacay before - only cruises - so it should be interesting!! Anyone else?

Hi,

I stayed at Riu Caribe in June, 2008. We booked thru the the website directly, and was given free airport transfers, just call the hotel directly. Upon arrivel our, room was read around 1pm...nice decent room, liquor in room filled, we bascially stayed on the grounds, except for one trip to Walmart..lol...very relaxing. Buffet was good, steakhouse, just okay! Mexican decent too. It is a hotel, staff works very hard. Don't expect 5 star hotel and you will be just fine. Enjoy!

We stay at the RIU Palace Las Americas and the RIU Cancun next door and we've visited the RIU Caribe. The beach at the Caribe is nice and you're close to the Isla Mujeres ferry. But we prefer the other RIU properties for their location and food (location being the primary benefit). The pool at the Cancun is also nicer but the Caribe pool is fine. We've posted reviews on TA for the RPLA and Cancun. The RPLA is a step up from both the Caribe and Cancun, and the Cancun gets consistently higher ratings than the Caribe but the Caribe is close.

What are your interests? Staying at the RPLA and Cancun you can walk to several shopping areas including a mall, nightclubs and Carlos & Charlies & Hard Rock, and restaurants. If any of these interest you take a look at the Cancun. It is similar in price to the Caribe, perhaps a little higher because it is a nicer property. But if you're just looking for a beach and the AI experience the Caribe is a nice resort with a great beach.
