Chance of upgrade

We have never had our cabin upgraded, is there a way to increase your chances of getting a better room???:confused:

They say the best chance is to book a guarantee, but that being said it does seem up upgrades with RCI are fewer and farther in between than with other cruise lines, all in my opinion only of course.

Maybe if you can find out what kind of cookies the upgrade fairy likes you can set a plate out for her and hopes she takes the bait.:)

It's best to book what you will be happy with, since you can't count on getting an upgrade. By booking a guarantee, you may get an upgrade OR you may get the absolute worst room in the catagory that you booked. Personally, I like knowing in advance exactly what I'm paying for! I'll pay the little bit extra to book the specific room I want!

We have booked guarantees and have received a slight upgrade in the past ... like from an E1 to E3, or D1 to D3. No suites or anything like that.
