Help needed! Port of Miami to FLL

Please help me out here. My sons need to get from the Port of Miami to the Fort Lauderale airport when we return from our cruise next month.

 

What is the best, easiest, and cheapest way to accomplish this?

I got this info last month when I asked CC: You can get RCCL transfers, you can grab a cab, you can rent a car where the rental agency (not all do it) come pick you up at pier then you get car and drop off in FLL. I found the cheapest is renting a car and this is good for us as we are staying over for 1 night. The cab fares range from $40 to $70 from what I found. The rental of a car is $30 and up. I don't know the transfer fee but it's usually in the $25 range.

I don't know how old your sons are but am assuming they can manage on their own.

 

I took the RCCL transfer last fall. You can book it on the ship (or prior to cruising), and it works well.

If your sons are old enough to drive, the rental car is the best way to go. Hertz has a pick-up point right at the Port of Miami. You can drop it off at FLL with no extra charge.

It is 65$ for a taxi, just grab it outside of the terminal.

Gosh, I would just grab a taxi - no waiting for a shuttle van to fill up, a little more space, and quick and convenient. Honestly, the last thing I would want to do after disembarking is to be looking for a Shuttle Van to take me to the rental office to rent a car for a 40 minute drive.

I've seen Tri-County Shuttle recommended frequently. You might look into that option as well.

The tri-county shuttle only runs from FLL TO Miami port, not from the port to FLL.

I've only used them to get from FLL to Miami, so you may be correct. We've always rented a car to spend the weekend at the end of our cruise.
