tracyg13 Posted September 15, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 15, 2007 I am a huge fan of Texas Holdem and was really looking forward to playing on our upcoming Freedom cruise this April. The casino had one table going on our last cruise, and it was a blast. Does anyone know if the Freedom has an actually Texas Holdem poker table? Thanks! They should have it since its a big thing now, on the Spirit Class ships they have 3 Electronic tables. Fred
thistlecruiser Posted September 15, 2007 #3 Share Posted September 15, 2007 Last I heard they were going to have Hold'em tourney's on all of the ships but only at specific times.
*Mach* Posted September 15, 2007 #4 Share Posted September 15, 2007 Last I heard they were going to have Hold'em tourney's on all of the ships but only at specific times. There are no dealers. The tables are electronic. They are 'PokerPro' tables and for my money, not worth sitting down at. http://www.pokertek.com/table.html
tracyg13 Posted September 15, 2007 Author #5 Share Posted September 15, 2007 I heard someone else mention the electronic games, and I was hoping it wasn't the case on all the ships. That is a big disappointment for my husband and I. A couple years back, we started playing poker in the library (we had brought chips). By the end of the week, we had all sorts of people joining the game. I am not happy with Carnival for doing this.
BeccaLA Posted September 15, 2007 #6 Share Posted September 15, 2007 Last I heard they were going to have Hold'em tourney's on all of the ships but only at specific times. On our Conquest cruise, hubby was quite dissappointed with the tourney. It was no limit, and to me that is really not a tourney.
Dawn125408 Posted September 15, 2007 #7 Share Posted September 15, 2007 Thanks for the link Machman. I have heard so much about this "electronic" poker, but just couldn't envision it. I've never played Texas Holdem - only on the computer. This looks like the tables on the computer games. I do play Liet It Ride in the casinos, but was always a little intimidated by the poker tables. Maybe the cruise would be a good place to try:confused:

thistlecruiser Posted September 15, 2007 #9 Share Posted September 15, 2007 What do you mean? No limit is the best kind of tourney. Unless it is a really low buy-in with a lot of bad players. Even then it makes the tourney easy to win.
BeccaLA Posted September 15, 2007 #10 Share Posted September 15, 2007 By no limit I meant that when you were low on chips you could just buy more, instead of just playing with the buy in.

See I love that. Multiple buy-in, let the losers lose more.
