My 21 day Poem....

Well, the time is getting closer

and we're down to 21 days.

I can't wait to sit on the Lido Deck

and watch the beautiful waves.

I've pulled the luggage out the closet

and piled it on the floor.

I've started hanging all the clothes

on the back of the bathroom door.

I'm trying really hard to contain myself

and act like a mature adult.

But deep inside I'm jumping up and down

and yelling like a crazy nut.

:D It's only 21 days!!!! :D

Yo! Deena,

Just for fun.....

Why not try to add one short verse each day till you leave.

You've got the 1st three days covered already.

If the edit-time expires, you can copy/paste/add.

Alas I have but only seven

days until I get to heaven.

I can't wait to board the Glory

Sure to return with quite the story.

Stories, perhaps, not only one...

After all, a week of fun!

Funship Freddy will be there,

The rest of us without a care.

Warm blue seas and bright blue skies,

Orient beach... avert your eyes!

Thomas, John, Caribbean Saints

Sure to leave us sans complaints.

Stewards, dealers, waiters, pursers,

No more email! No more cursors!

Will my colleagues turn to stone

When they can't reach me on my phone?

Work this week will be a blur

While waiting for a nice liqueur.

Now I have to count the days

Until I can soak up the rays!

I'm not sure how I'll get through -

Simply not enough to do.

What to do to pass the time --

Come up with another rhyme?

...i will try for one line a day

...having now 100 days to wait

...i will read these threads

...and pray,

...our docs come ...not too late

does anyone know the full text of "america for me"...it has stayed with me for more than 50 years...but only barely...does this flick your memory? (now i am curious...will check out google)...the poem sounds something like:

"it`s grand to see the old world and travel up and down

among the .....palaces and cities of renown

to admire the ....

and palaces of the kings

but now i think i`ve had enough of antiquated things,

so, its home again, home again

america for me

my heart is....home again

is where i long to be....

(and so forth)

any takers?

oh, i found it, i found it...please indulge me...

just two of the verses:

...

So it`s home again, and home again, America for me!

My heart is turning home again, and there i long to be,

In the land of youth and freedom beyond the ocean bars

Where the air is full of sunlight and the flag is full of stars.

Oh, London is a man's town, there's power in the arir;

and Paris is a woman`s town,with flowers in the hair;

And it`s sweet to dream in Venice, and it`s great to study Rome;

But when it comes to living...there is no place like home.

...

Henry Van Dyke

thats all folks...

On the 12 th day before my cruise..my true love gave to me....

12 lists for planning....

11 bags for packing....

10 nights not sleeping....

9 notes for shopping....

8 rooms need cleaning....

7 bills for paying....(hey, that's casino money!)

6 bottles of water......

5 more pairs of shoes....

4 calls to family.....

3 emails to send....

2 sets of earplugs.....

and a $100, just for me.... :)

So I've put behind me another day

and it's now down to just 20.

I started to get all my shoes together

But my husband said, "No that's too many."

It's 20 DAYS!!

It was the night before our cruise and all through the house not a creature was stirring not even .............

A great Carnival Miracle happened there. ........

(We only had fuel oil for one night but the cruise was for seven days)

So, we've got it down to 19 days

and been closely watching the weather.

But, I'm starting to get really nervous...

Do you think I might need feathers?

It's only 19 Days!!!
