BunkerVA Posted September 3, 2004 #1 Share Posted September 3, 2004 Hey, rolled the guarantee dice and got an adjoining stateroom. Its an e2 balcony room on the Brilliance (room 8144) Is this an okay place to be? What is usually where the door is going to be located? Thanks for any info, Sam Wills :)
D4 Posted September 3, 2004 #2 Share Posted September 3, 2004 We had an adjoining cabin this summer on the Legend. Instead of a loveseat along one wall, we had a chair. That was the only difference. We never heard the other people through the door.
TomCat32174 Posted September 3, 2004 #3 Share Posted September 3, 2004 My best guess would be the wall. On NOS and EOS, had promenade rooms. Once adjoinging and once not, and where the door was, there was a wall instead.
BunkerVA Posted September 3, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted September 3, 2004 Good call TomCat! :) Thanks D4....not a big deal...was just concerned there would be no seating other than the bed. Thanks! Sam
Catnip Posted September 8, 2004 #5 Share Posted September 8, 2004 BunkerVa, Hey, Sam! What happened to the thread about the pets? Did it disappear? Any idea's what happened? Denise
kitty1 Posted September 8, 2004 #6 Share Posted September 8, 2004 We had an adjoining E1 and the adjoining door was at the foot of the bed. There was about 2 feet between the foot of the bed and the door. The sliding door to the balcony opened right there too.
BunkerVA Posted September 10, 2004 Author #7 Share Posted September 10, 2004 Hey Denise! The last post was by me and I might have mentioned tying people to the fence during a hurricane if they abandon their pets to the elements....then it was gone...OoPs!!! :) It got poofed! Anyway, glad to know there is another kritter lover out there. I don't know what I would do without mine! In fact, even my husband knows where he is in the pecking order! (No, honey, that's Bunker's chair...you sit on the floor!) And has often asked if the cats and he were trapped in a burning house, who would I save first....is there a good answer to that question?!?!? :) Also, thanks kitty1 for the balcony info. I have read bad things about adjoining staterooms, but RCCL wants another $400 to upgrade to a balcony without a connecting door...and frankly, it isnt worth that much to me! Could you tell me, please, does the balcony door stay open on its own? Thanks everyone! Sam :)
Catnip Posted September 10, 2004 #8 Share Posted September 10, 2004 My husband is in the same pecking order as yours!! ;) In fact, before we even went out for our first date, I asked him if he liked cats......if his answer had been no, I doubt things would have gotten serious! No kidding!

Thanks iroyster! I will look forward to the pictures! How is the noise? And does the balcony door stay open on its own? Thanks so much everyone!! CruisFran Posted September 12, 2004 #12 Share Posted September 12, 2004 We have not been on any ships, with a hinged balcony, that it stayed open by itself. Bring a bungy cord..or prop it open with something!
kitty1 Posted September 12, 2004 #13 Share Posted September 12, 2004 Depends on which ship you're on as far as whether the balcony door stays open by it's self or not. We were on the serenade, and it did. It was your basic sliding glass door.
BunkerVA Posted September 12, 2004 Author #14 Share Posted September 12, 2004 We're on the Brilliance and I heard the door is sliding glass! Thank everyone! Sam :)
