dantim Posted January 27, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 27, 2008 I know you can bring 2 bottles of wine with you upon embarkation, but wanted to know if they charge you a corkage fee or not??? Plus, do you have to bring your own cork screw?
nps001 Posted January 27, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 27, 2008 If you bring your own wine the restaurant for consumption, there is a corkage fee. Of course, there is not fee to consume the wine in the privacy of your cabin. We asked our butler for a corkscrew, and it was happily provided as well as a set on wine glasses. dutchess43 Posted January 27, 2008 #3 Share Posted January 27, 2008 We bring our wine on board & enjoy it in the cabin or out on the balcony. We still order wine with dinner, I would rather do that then pay the 25.00 corkage fee.
Gogetters17 Posted January 27, 2008 #4 Share Posted January 27, 2008 We are in a 2C cabin - do we need to bring a corkscrew as we don't have a butler (my first cruise)?
NancyJ Posted January 27, 2008 #5 Share Posted January 27, 2008 Nope, no need to bring a cork screw along. They are in the cabin, if they are not, ask the attendant. Enjoy!
Gogetters17 Posted January 28, 2008 #6 Share Posted January 28, 2008 :D Thank you NancyJ - we will (or at least DH) enjoy (the wine that is!!!)
burm Posted February 4, 2008 #7 Share Posted February 4, 2008 If you can bring your own wine and open it in your cabin, what is to stop you from wandering into the dining room with a glass? People are always wandering around with their drinks.
Donnaluv2cruise Posted February 4, 2008 #8 Share Posted February 4, 2008 Nothing is stopping you, although this is where this thread gets sticky!
Aussie Cruisers Posted February 4, 2008 #9 Share Posted February 4, 2008 Sorry if this is obvious to some..... bare with me! Is it two bottles per person, or per stateroom? If per person - do infants count (that sounds SOOOOOO bad). Sorry. :p Mark.
funship freddy Posted February 4, 2008 #10 Share Posted February 4, 2008 You can take more than two total.......just pack them carefully in your luggage.....put some in yours...some in your cabin mates.
MEcruzr Posted February 4, 2008 #11 Share Posted February 4, 2008 To answer the question asked, it's two bottles per STATEROOM. You can attempt to bring more, but the "rule" is two per stateroom. Me? I bring more. ;)
raudacruise Posted February 5, 2008 #12 Share Posted February 5, 2008 Last two cruises there wasn't a cork screw in the suite. Butler would open it on request no problem. If you have an easy open cork screw and plan on opening a number of bottles, pack it in your checked baggage - doesn't take much room. I think its even allowed in carryon to tell the truth. BuyYourWineHere!! Posted February 5, 2008 #13 Share Posted February 5, 2008 We are off on our first cruise together, and are very interested in further comments regarding taking alcohol on board - both before and during the cruise! Any "Tips" would be very much appreciated. :D
