fifty Posted February 2, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 2, 2008 Is is true that the Galaxy is scheduled for dry dock and refurbishing this year? Does anyone know when and for how long? I have "heard" that she is showing her age and really needs a make-over. Any inside word on what's happening with this beautiful ship?

eandj Posted February 3, 2008 #7 Share Posted February 3, 2008 I will certainly be impressed if they do all that! They just replaced all the pool decks last year. However it was with AWFUL material which got sooo hot in the sun. A total screw up. I hope they replace all the wood around the hot tubs and pool tiling too. It definitely needs replacement. I thought I heard the Stratosphere windows had already been replaced. We loved the Galaxy and will definitely sail her again!

bububr Posted February 3, 2008 #9 Share Posted February 3, 2008 While I have NEVER had a bad meal on Merc. ( I have on Century...untill Muranos ). I really don't think specialty restaurants are the way to go. They're great for the extra income on the ships....bu they deter from the main resturant which should be 4 to 5 star to begin with. eandj Posted February 3, 2008 #10 Share Posted February 3, 2008 We agree that the Galaxy main dining room had just wonderful service and delicious meals. Definitely a step above the mainstreams. We didn't miss any specialty restaurants at all. We appreciate all they put into the one main restaurant and hope they continue.
