2 night cruise to nowhere

There is 1 formal night on any cruise over 1 night. Typical formal attire is worn.

Not necessarily. I was recently on a 2 night CTN (Sept.18), and I'm looking at a copy of the Capers:

1st night - "Casual" - no shorts, tanktops, or beachwear.

2nd night - "Smart Casual" - no shorts, tanktops, or beachwear.

(However, folks were dressed anywhere from casual to formal on the second night.)

I have a copy of a ctn capers on the Victory for June 18th and it says that the second night is formal. it does also state that formal attire is requested. But since on CTN you have to carry on and off your luggage= who the heck want to cart all the formal wear with them. We are going to get dressed but not fancylike we would on a 7 day cruise/. Now the first night its stated smart casual (thursday)

Ill be cruising to nowhere in two more weekends.. Ill post a dress survey when we get back.

I really think that, since that CTN I took was kinda the "hurricane refugee" cruise, folks were confused. Some told me their TA or PVP had told them formal, some said they were told casual - so I'm sure it wasn't typical...and that's why they put "smart casual" in the Capers. Actually, nothing about that cruise was what I would call typical - enjoyable yes, but not the usual cruise.

Anyone got a caper from a Miracle 2 nighter? Myself , and a bunch of cousins and spouses are going on the Miracle from Tampa 11/05/2004. Hope they have the sushi at the Taste of Nations buffet like they did on the Pride.

Thanks for all the information! Yes, we will be on the Victory next weekend out of Norfolk (myself, my husband and another couple). We have never done a CTN so any info is much apreciated. :)

Yum, lobster and prime rib! That sound so good.

What time can you get on the ship?

I hope the weather is good. I checked for Norfolk and it says scattered showers (72/53) for Sat. and partly cloudy (68/54) on Sun.

I have victory ones if you want to see those...send me your address to serene56@aol.com and they will be in the mail on Monday

Put in the subject like Capers for the Victory.

I dont think the Miracle has had a cruise to nowhere yet-- the one you are going on may be a first.

Marly: I agree that there wont be time for reading. I mean afterall we have to cram 7 days worth of cruising into 2 days. (wont even be watching the calories on a 2 day cruise== hope not to eat like it was 7 days...lol

It really depends on whre the Victory is before it comes to Norfolk.

But I would say to head to the pier about 11am. (this is when security will open) then you should be onboard by noon) Casino wont open til you are in open waters.. In NY it opens at 7:00 From Philly it opened much later.

Did you get your documents? Does the ship sail at 5 or 4?

Thanks serene!

Yes, I have the documents and it says the ship will depart at 4:30.

The documents say "embark 1:30 PM until 4:00 PM" but I thought we could most likely board before 1:30... I just did not know how much before.

Thanks so much everyone for your help!
