ritak Posted May 22, 2008 #1 Share Posted May 22, 2008 I tried to book a tour online but it is evidently already full. The site said to "inquire on board". Where and when should I inquire about this? Do they really save some spaces for each tour? Has anyone had luck with booking once they were on the ship?
alprice Posted May 22, 2008 #2 Share Posted May 22, 2008 I dont know if they save space or not. Go to the Explorations desk as soon as you board the ship to see if it is available. I would also keep watching online as people cancell quite often.
Aprille Posted May 22, 2008 #3 Share Posted May 22, 2008 Many of the excursions have spots saved to sell onboard. I've heard it is as high as 30 or 35%. I imagine it depends on the type of excursion. My suggestion would be to check availability on the TV interactive system as soon as you get to your cabin and book it that way if it is available. This is how we got to do the Mexican Cuisine Workshop on our last cruise as it was "sold out" when I tried to book online. Good luck!
cruisnpat Posted May 22, 2008 #4 Share Posted May 22, 2008 I would go to guest relations or the excursions desk as soon as possible and see if there are any openings.
Retired LEO Posted May 22, 2008 #5 Share Posted May 22, 2008 Some excursions are very popular and sell out quickly. I would hit the excursions desk early onboard.
cb at sea Posted May 23, 2008 #6 Share Posted May 23, 2008 Yes, they DO save spots for those who don't book online! (and, not everyone does!!!!) Check at the excursion desk when you board--chances are great you'll get your spot!
ritak Posted May 23, 2008 Author #7 Share Posted May 23, 2008 Thank you all for the great information! I'll check as soon as I got on board.

sandytoes03 Posted May 23, 2008 #9 Share Posted May 23, 2008 On our second cruise we missed the window to book online and had to on the ship. We still were able to get everything we wanted. If I remember correctly we filled out something in our room and turned it in somewhere. .?? Anyway, like I said, we got everything we wanted. I would head to the Explorations desk ASAP. I'm sure it will work out fine.:)
Iwantsun Posted May 23, 2008 #10 Share Posted May 23, 2008 if you are still within the alotted time to book online, try again in a few days. Some people may change their minds and cancel the excursion to book another one. You may also have a chance once you hit the final payment date. It happened to us during our med cruise preparation; the excursion we wanted was sold out and a few days later, we were able to book it. If it is still not available online, you can book it once you get on the ship. good luck!
LWcalif Posted May 23, 2008 #11 Share Posted May 23, 2008 What is the cut-off to book online? Every excursion says "inquire onboard" for our 5/31/08 cruise. I thought it was 1 week, but maybe I'm wrong.

LWcalif Posted May 23, 2008 #13 Share Posted May 23, 2008 I think it's 10 days. Well, I'm OK with that.....but only because "I'M 9 DAYS OUT FROM MY CRUISE ON THE LIBERTY!"
