New cruiser has questions

In all of the cruises that we've taken in the Caribbean (6), the muster drill is before you set sail. I don't think they can sail if they haven't informed passengers how to react and where to go in an emergency. Am I wrong about that??

Not quite sure! I have never sailed that late before! LOL, I was hoping somebody would chime in! On NCL, the DH and I "missed" the drill (don't ask) and since they took "roll", they made us do a "makeup" drill the next day! hehehe, we were not the only ones there............... ;)
