Royal Caribbean Called Me

Recommended Posts

Just off Grandeur a week ago. juice was free in windjammer, and dining room for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I also had free soda in the dining room with my soda card. Drink prices are the same as I remember for the past three years. I did not notice that service had been cut or reduced in any way - it was great as usual. This was my 6th RCL cruise, with 7th booked on Navigator in Oct. In today's world, change is something we should all expect and learn to "go with the flow". Life is too short, and I am glad I am able to take cruises and refuse to let little things spoil my wonderful trips. Also, if folks chose to cruise during "sprng break" times, they should be aware that there are a lot of teens running around- I know, I take mine! If you don't want teens, pick a different cruise time, or another line adapted more for "older folks".

Just off the Majesty on Friday and juice, water, lemonade and ice tea were all free from the Windjammer. We last cruised about 4 years ago and were glad to see all of the added security measures put in place. Also, debarkation at Miami is much easier than four years ago--we were very glad to see baggage handled like the airport ,rather than the old hunt through the warehouse method. Thumbs up for this improvement.

Downside? Too many kids (Jr. High age) running rampant around the ship in the evenings. I think RCCL needs to crack down on this--it is distrubing to older cruisers (not that I am one of them Elevators were used for entertainment with kids riding up and down and pressing all floors. Some kids were camped out in the elevators sitting on the floors. Anyway, a simple fix would be to hire Deck monitors to handle the over zealous kids. The teen disco was empty most nights-the kids hung out on the pool deck--a good number of them sitting at the bar! Oh well--all in all we had a nice cruise, but I may be looking at another cruise line in the future that doesn't attract sooooo many unattended children.

I agree about the teens, nothing against them I have a 16 yr old daughter, but the number of teens, most looking underage, were drinking at pools hanging by elevators and in halls at all hours, it was a nuisance, I was told if they were not in a teen program or with there parents supervised then the curfew was midnite, At the best of times I did not see any adult supervision and too many unsupervised teens. As well the waiters on pool decks were more than willing if not eager, to provide alcohol to these teens no questions asked. Where are the parents of these kids I'm not a prude I have a teen of my own. I am allways looking out for her best interest and know where and what she is doing (most of the time)!!!

So Parnami, you are just sharing your opinion?????? What a crock of......

You are on a crusade to change the policies of the cruiseline, try to be intellectually honest, and you might get a tiny part of your credibility back someday.

jc

PS, I have zero vested interest in any cruiseline, so again, you are less than credible in your analysis, but since it is just your opinion and not a fact like normal, I suppose I will let it pass.

Isn't there supposed to be a hole punched in the cruisecard to show that the person is underage and cannot purchase alcohol?

Got2Cruise,

I believe it was no punches for over 21, 1 punch for 18 to 21 and 2 punches for under 18. I will be seeing my son tonight and will see if he remembers for sure
