Some info on the aqua theatre

Recommended Posts

AquaTheater Pool

The largest and deepest freshwater pool at sea will be 21.9 feet (6.6 meters) by 51.6 feet wide (15.7 meters), with a depth of 17.9 feet (5.4 meters).

Fitted with three stage machinery devices, the pool's depth will rise or fall to meet the needs of each performance and for its various functions throughout the day.

Three custom lifts built into the pool will allow for intricate and multilevel performances.

Underwater cameras will film performers and project images onto two giant Barco® LED screens that will flank the stage.

Water Show Performances

Throughout the evenings, the AquaTheater pool will come alive with beautiful choreographed fountain shows, amid hundreds of water nozzles - some with capabilities of shooting water 65 feet (20 meters) high - programmed to music and lights.

A giant trampoline will be centered between two diving towers allowing gymnasts and aerialists to flip and dismount into the pool.

The diving tower will include two spring boards and two 10-meter high dive platforms.

A bridge connects the two high dive boards which can support an entire row of divers. On the underbelly of this bridge will be lights and nozzles that allow for water to fall like a curtain down into the pool below.

A trapeze will hang behind the high dive boards to give the appearance that trapeze artists are climbing the curtain of water.

Very interesting indeed, especially the description of the nighttime show activities. I realize that only three of the seven neighborhoods have been revealed but so far there has been no mention that I have seen of a Studio B ice skating rink, and given the description of the shows that will be held in the AquaTheater, I am wondering if the AquaTheater will pretty much substitute for the ice rink as a major show attraction on Oasis? Any thoughts?

Bill, Akerbuilder confirmed that there would be an ice skating rink. Actually some of the early construction photos showed it. :)

I do not know if anyone has been to Las Vegas and saw the Cirque de Soliel show "O", it sounds like the pool is not as large as that one but similar where the configuration with the depth changes.

Thanks, I obviously missed that.:o I am sure that many, including me, will be pleased that this feature will not be missing on Oasis and Allure. When you factor in the night time production and headliner shows in the theater, the ice show and now the performances at the AquaTheater, it is easy to see that our evenings will be filled with plenty of entertainment options (may even save me some money by keeping me away from the casino).:)

One of the things people don't realize is the ice-rink itself is almost an afterthought. Studio B connects directly to the business center on the other side allowing for larger presentations, booths or displays if need be. Also the sliding floor adds more options. Truly a multipurpose space but it needs to be, I don't this the ice rink could be justified in it's own right

So we have main shows, water shows, ice shows... a week on oasis will definitely not be enough!

So, who has seen "O" or "Le Reve" in Vegas? Anyone think that the aqua theatre sounds like a good place for a version of a show like those?

I have seen both shows twice and would definitely book the Oasis if they put on similiar productions!

That would be great... but I am too cheap to cruise at xmas especially on one of the hot ships. Think of all those crumb crunchers cluttering the decks. No, as much as it would be a true pleasure... jc won't be on that sailing!:D

jc<---- still a Folgy kind of guy:o

Yes, totally agree! Sounds great! We are Cirque “groupies” and have seen every one in Vegas, plus Le Reve…. Just purchased tickets for Corteo (Miami in Nov)… Since RCI had, for a time, Cirque shows on one of the Celebrity ships.... maybe:D :D Anyway....

The Oasis information is really exciting… can’t wait… and agree with statements that we will have difficulty experiencing all that is offered in one week.

Which is probably exactly what they were thinking. Even with one less port of call, it will probably necessitate back to back cruises just to fit everything in. Once they begin alternating itineraries, the number of back to backs will probably increase exponentially.:D
