I am considering a Seabourn Caribbean cruise in March of 06......IF I enjoy the Orinoco cruise in Dec of '05 which is already booked.

Please write a review of the Caribbean cruise you are taking so that I can get an idea of whether I should book.....

I am so lucky I don' t have to wait until '05 to cruise again. I shall be sure to comment on this one, since I have done the other one. I know there are others on the board who have done it or will be doing it, so watch for their reviews too.

Chairsin~~~~Howdy Girlfriend!

As I have several "engagements" around this time it's on hold for now.....as you know Mother and I did this 7 day three years in a row. The picnic on "Prickly Pear" Island was one of her favorites......I surely do miss her. I have started my book, "Cruisin' With Mama"......sooo many funny, unbelievable stories.

I'm also including tips and suggestions (actually logistics) as to traveling with a 93 year old! My Brother and I found the very 1st time on Seabourn that it is indeed the perfect line to take and treat your elderly family members! Soooo easy and oh, do they ever feel special! It was such a delight to "escort" Miss Jewel......she loved everyone and they loved her! Especially Eric DeGrey! As some of you know, Eric lost his precious Grandmother (whom he tells great stories about) the day before we sailed into New York City......Sept. 16th. He disembarked and flew to Canada and sang at her funeral. He later told me that singing her favorite "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" was one of the hardest things he has ever done......bless his sweet heart. Losing loved ones is not easy.

'Lest we forget......."La Dolce Vita!"

Martita,

Dang!!!Thinking it might fun to turn the table on you and give you a surprise for a change I booked this cruise and had planned on walking up to you in the bar of the Coconut Court Hotel like some long lost friend ( wearing my tiara of course) and dropping clues to see how long it took for you to figure out who I was! Well girlfriend get this trip off hold and back to "on" status -- my husband is sorely disappointed that he will not be able to meet you after all of the stories I have told him about you.Besides, you need this to recover from your Thanksgiving Soiree.

Chairsin.......O.K.,I'll be there....just for YOU and "hubby!!" I am flying into Barbados on Dec. 11th from Miami......on BWIA West Indies Airlines (do you suppose they will "spray me down" akin to flying into Jamaica???) arriving Barbados about 6:40 pm. The Coconut Beach Hotel will be picking me up! I'll meet 'yall in the "Libation Area"....I'll be the one in the Longhorns/Tiara with a red carnation in my lapel! We'll raise a flute or two!

Get set, Honey.......I'm having a holiday PARTY on board! I have everything all ready.....including my beautiful white feathered angel wings with my matching white feathered HALO! It's to be an "Eggnog Social Sing-a-long" We don't have to sing, though. The pianist will be playing.

Look out Caribbean.......here we come ready or not!

Happy Trails and Sails!

Can't wait -- look forward to meeting bot of y'all ( sorry , it just slipped out) and have started packing angel wings for moi and reindeer antlers for my sweetie. And I don't care how loud the pianist plays, I intend to sing louder and more off key ( particularly if my vocal cords have been properly lubricated).

And thanks, boy did you get me out of dutch with himself. "What do you mean the Legend ( or should that be "Pride") is not sailing on the Pride with us?

Meet you at the bar !

Chairsin~~~I wanted to mention that The Coconut Court Beach Hotel offers transportation from the Airport to the hotel. It's $20.....about the same as a Taxi. And you can charge this to your room. Here is the info:

E-mail address: Kim Hunte khunte@coconut-court.com

Phone:246-1655 EX.2322

Another 'bit of info........I e-mailed James Best at the Hotel and he seemed VERY nice and helpful. He's "front desk"......I always like to have NAMES when I check in at a Hotel. Makes it so much easier. I may decide to mail my box of "party goodies" to him.

OH, I just found out our Pride Hotel Manager will be Trevor. Have you met him? He's a former Ex. "Cheffy"......

Will leave in the morning for Lubbock......(YES, that 'old song...."Lubbock in My Rearview Mirror!") I make the trek annually to spend a few days with good friends and to do all my Christmas shopping.....then I wrap and "dole out" during our Ranch Thanksgiving Games and Dyamite "Blowout." (no pun intended) VOILA........all done!

Practice your "I'm Dreamin' Of a White BEACH Christmas"....we can alter the words......"just like the ones I used to know......la dee da dee dah"

Looking forward to being with all of you!

We already had our room booked but my husband called Kim this morning and arranged pick up from the airport. Thanks for the tip. We'll see you at the bar-- what can we order you? Would you like to dine there that evening or shall we make reservations at Brown Sugar(have you ever eaten there?)?

And regarding Trevor ( Trevor Coutts from New Zealand), congrats to him. He was our Cheffy on our last Med cruise on the Spirit -- handsome , charming and downright picky about what food Seabourn serves. You will love him. Do you know who the rest of our crew will be?

Chairsin~~~~just found out we have 3 more FUN Seabourn Sailor's on......good friends of mine! All 3 are "hoots!" Yee Haw! They also may be staying at the Coconut Court Beach Hotel (and using their aiport transfer) I'll need to wait awhile as to dinner on Dec. 11th.......we may all go to the Brown Sugar.

What a very fine time we are going to have!

Can't wait!

Can't wait -- when I was a young wahine (girl) living Hawaii my favorite Christmas carol was " Here Comes Santa in A Red Canoe"-- it is the closest I can come to a Caribbean Christmas carol -- if you and your friends are REAL lucky I may just sing it for you.

Sorry to bear sad news girls but Brown Sugar burnt to the ground about 2 weeks ago. :(

The owners are planning to rebuild but it will not be in time for your dinner party. Champers is a good alternative and even closer to your hotel! you will have such fun!

You will adore my 3 friends coming......there won't be ONE dull moment! Be prepared!

"Merry Christmas a todos,'y todas good night!"

jaicat~~~~thanks for the Brown Sugar Restaurant update.....although I am so sorry to hear of the fire. What a tragedy......so unfortunate. I'm so sorry!

Do you know of the "Red Rooster" across from the Coconut Court Beach Hotel? I won't be arriving at the Hotel until around 7 pm.....thought it might simplify matters to indeed find a restaurant close to the Coconut Court for dinner. The 11th of Dec. is a Sat. night.

And Chairsin, yes, HD and the M's have booked at the CC Beach Hotel and will be staying with us. (you are allowed to say, "Yee Haw".....we Texans love Arizona.......but if you feel a 'lit more comfortable saying, "Yippppeee, that's fine too!)

We will probably board quite early on Dec. 12th.....I will need to have a "board meeting" with Trevor and LuLu as to the "Eggnog Social"......which will be held on Thurs. evening, Dec. 16th around 6:30 in the Constellation Lounge. I thought this would be a convenient date (we depart St. Thomas at 1 pm) so as not to interfer with Seabourn's evenings...... There will be two formal nights, plus our Club Gala.

O.K. all together now....."Here Comes Santa Claus in a Red Canoe.......or is it a Big White/Blue beautiful Yacht?"

Martita B,

The Red Rooster is very much open and, by the way, is owned by the same people who own Coconut Court. The Hotel front desk may be able to book reservations for your party in advance for the night of the 11th. This may be a good idea because the restaurant may get full very quickly in the tourist season.;)

Good news, December 12 sailors!

You will have a special guest chef on board for that cruise. Rob Feenie is the founder and chef at Lumiere in Vancouver, and one of the highest rated chefs in Canada. His restaurant always tops the charts in YVR, which is a real foodie town. Enjoy!

Jaicat,

Thanks for the update -- what a shame about Brown Sugar -- I have not been in a few years but the place has sentimental value to me.Do you know if they are going to rebuild?

Martita ,

Ok, now I am really confused -- am I allowed to say Yee Haw after all?

We are happy to eat anywhere -- just let us know as we get closer if you want us to make resevations as suggested or if you want to do it.And also let me know if there is anything I can do/bring to help with the festivities for the ship. (I'll try to write a new chorus for the song that fits.) And hey, be gentle with Trevor -- he may not be ready for Hurricane Martha! And while you are at it put in my escargot order as well -- no fair hogging all those little snails -- course my husband thinks I don't really like escargot -- just butter, garlic and parsley -- he amy be right.)

BLDSLD

Thanks for the helpful info -- you always come through for us other Seabournites!

chairsin~~~~Cutie, you are allowed to say anything you'd like......except, please don't boo The Texas Longhorns! Yee Haw!

As to your bringing "goodies".....I can not think of anything that I've missed.......I have the invitations, all our "holiday head gear" (Santa hats, raindeer antler horns, elf hats, etc., etc.) my wings and halo, napkins, etc., etc....) Just pack you and "hubby" a 'lit festive outfit to wear. I'll be e-mailing LuLu AND Trevor next week as to our "Eggnog Social"anyway.......I'll go ahead and place our standing orders of snails......am anxious to taste Rob's escargot.

Also, chairsin, I'll bring Jim and Sandra's address in Green Valley, Az.......I really think you would enjoy meeting both of them! Great couple! Fun and real hoots!

Hasta Luego.....

Chairsin,

Brown Sugar is a favourite of mine as well.... have been enjoying their food for more than 20 years and was there only 4 days before the fire. The morning after the blaze the current owner said that he would rebuild so we are living in hope.
