Can you drive from Pittsburgh to Cleveland and take Continental to FLL? That is, assuming flights from CLE to FLL are non stop and still operable...

CLE is a Continental hub and isn't Pittsburgh less than a 3 hour drive from CLE?

Jetblue has flights from $254.00 each way 4/5 and 4/12.

If you do have to cancel, consider taking the caribbean princess next summer out of NYC. Amtrak goes from Pittsburgh to NYC. If you are an AAA member your kids can go on the train for half price.

Here's another idea, you could rent a van and drive much, much cheaper than $4500.

Expedia has round trip tickets Apr 4 - Apr 12, 2009 on Delta for $385 a person.

 

Sounds like you need to shop for better airfare, not cancel your cruise!
