2 Questions

I have 2 questions if anybody can help me out...

I was looking at cruises awhile ago and noticed a cruise line that had an itinerary where you stayed the night at an island and spent 2 days there. I now can't find that cruise...has anyone seen a cruise like that?

And can anyone give me there opinion on cruising with a child? My husband and I just had a kid and we were talking about when we would be able to go on a cruise again.

The only multi-night single island stay that I'm familiar with is Bermuda, in particular 7 day cruises, out of the east coast where the first day and a half and the last day and a half are at sea coming and going, but the rest is docked in in port - and often more than one docking location. RCCL used to have 7 day itineraries that did that, but in the last year or so changed them to 5 days which still gives you 2 days in port. Check other lines websites - Norwegian, Celebrity, and others - as they also offer similar itineraries. And Bemuda is beautiful!

As to your second question, that's entirely up to you, obviously. But the first few cruises we did we went by ourselves leaving our children with their grandparents - win / win! But we soon decided that they should enjoy the cruise as well - and now they're hooked. Certainly older than your newborn, but over the years they've been on about 8 with us and absolutely love it. And most lines have programs for kids - event starting at very tender ages - that are very well managed and allow for activities geared for them while you pursue those geared for you.

Don't hold back - go! And maybe do one by yourselves if you can, but don't hesitate to include your child either.

If you wish to bring your child please check the cruise line's web site about the age restrictions. There have been a few changes on some of the lines. Every infant we have ever seen over the last twenty plus years has been so lulled by the sea that we have never heard an unhappy baby. I wish I could say the same for those of my advanced years!!!

Bermuda would be a great place to take a child, by the way.
