No crown Grill on Star???

Below is an excerpt from the press announcement on teh star dry dock changes:

 

"Star Princess is the first of three ships to receive these updates. Caribbean Princess and Golden Princess will also receive similar transformations in subsequent drydocks, in January and April of 2009, respectively. Caribbean Princess and Golden Princess will also receive additional enhancements including a new Crown Grill steak and seafood restaurant, a new casino area and six additional suites."

 

The way it reads, it sounds like the crown grill was NOT added to the star -- can someone on board onfirm or deny:) I will be so sad if there is no crown grill. THANKS!

that is the press release I had quoted Alan - thanks for posting it -- but it does not specifically address the crown grill -- so it sounds like this enhancement was NOT made during dry dock -- I am hoping that perhaps they have upgraded the menus but just did not move the restaurant or put in the "showcase" kitchen. I was so looking forward to the crown grill menu as opposed to sterlings!!

There is currently a "Live from the Star" going on now and that question has been asked of the person on board. Hopefully she will let us know.

I've heard that the new Crown Grill menus did make it on board. Perhaps the redecorating was not accomplished but the new menus will be in place. As Marilyn said hopefully we will get a definitive answer on the Crown Grill from those sailing now.

I hope that this is just a temporary oversite if Crown Grill was not added to the Star. We ate there twice on the Crown and it was EXCELLENT even for the additional charge.

 

We loved the International Cafe' as well so glad to see it added as well. I hope Princess will make all the Grand / Crown class ships consistant. The layout of the Crown (Emerald/Ruby) was a big imporvement over the Grand/Diamond.

So in answer to the question from "live from the Star" is

Crown Grill - it is done and we are planning on going there 1 night - will let you know. Haven't talked to anyone who has been there yet.

 

Yes; it does have a Crown Grill, but they haven't been to it yet. Although the press release does make it sound like it isn't.

Yes it is $25 with a $9 upcharge for the live maine lobster or Brazillian tail.

It will replace Sterling Steak house (desert rose). ;)
