What airline does Carnival use from Western Canada?

We are booked on the Carnival Glory out of Port Canaveral on Jan.17/09. We've booked the air/cruise package due to the price of flights out of our local airport ($$$$$$$$$!!!!!!!!!). There are 3 airlines that fly out of our airport to Orlando, and there's a HUGE variation between them in terms of the amount of time it takes to get there (15+ hours vs. 6 hours!! ). My question - does anyone know what airline Carnival typically uses from Western Canada? We won't have our flight info for a while yet, and we're stressing a little about the situation...

Thanks in advance...

Unless you booked direct with Air Canada Vacations, Carnival air will use any of your available air carriers, depending on their contracted air rates and availability. So it could be Air Canada, possibly West Jet or a US carrier that connects through a US hub on the way to Florida.

If you have specific flights that you want, contact your TA or Carnival and pay the air deviation fee - this allows you to request custom flights but there is often an additional airfare cost associated with custom flights.

There is a reason cruise included air is often cheaper - because you have no control over your flights and do not recieve the flight details until around 45 days before the cruise...

The American carrier out of our city is Northwest, and it has the best flight times (~6 hours), so we're hoping Carnival will go with them as opposed to the Canadian carriers (being an American company).

Please read this sticky at the top of this forum that will explain cruise air to you. Cruise lines do not necessarily choose the shortest flights. It could be any airline and any flight:

Also note that Carnival does not make seat assignments. They only arrange for air travel.

If you used a TA, they might get seat assignments for you. Otherwise, as soon as you know what airline you are on,,, call them and make your own seat assignments.

Carnival does not care if the airline is US owned vs. Canadian, they just use who will provide the flight at the contracted rate. They also do not give priority to direct flights or convenient flights or non-stop flights unless you make a request for custom air and pay the upcharge involved (usually $50-75 to make the custom air request plus any additional airfare charges associated with it).

There is a reason cruise air may be cheaper than arranging your own airfare....

Okay, I appreciate everyone's honesty, but now I'm more worried than ever! I guess we will just have to have the attitude that we will get there eventually and not have our hearts set on being in Orlando before midnight the day before the cruise!

Does anyone have any positive experiences booking cruise air??
