Just returned Crown Princess Review

If you waited 30 minutes for a chair you waited 29 minutes too long. Try going to the casino and interpreting table game rules "your way"! You will be given a quick lesson on the proper way to play the game. Rule is "No chair reserving".Period!! Kudos to anyone who plays the game fair!!
And all the chairs and beach towels are the same colour - blue and white, thanks goodness so you can play musical decks chairs with the 'chair hogs.' Throw all their blue and white towels in the chairs into the towel basket, near the pools!

Worse than the deck chair hogs are the buffet chair hogs who like to sit in the buffet for most of the day from breakfast on, playing cards and reading, not moving for other pax wanting to sit down and eat. I reckon Dining room staff should move them on too.
Now you struck a nerve. They like to sit there playing cards & sipping coffee & wouldn't think of moving to the library or finding a table in an out of the way place.

well, now you can sit next to them, take out your cell phone and talk loudly into it until they move :D. So nice (sic) to have cell phone service on the ship, I dread it when the airlines introduce it too.
Just wondering...

Did they have the horse racing on the Crown? We enjoyed it on the Emerald.

And did they do on Deck for the cure?

Thanks...Anna
I believe they have the On Deck for the Cure on every ship; we certainly did it on the Crown last summer. Sorry, can't recall about the horse racing . . .

Hooray for those who waged the war against the chair hogs and won! I usually ask someone sitting nearby if they have seen anyone use the chair I want. Usually they say no, and then I take the chair! With all the money you paid to use the facilities on the ship, I can't believe you would let your vacation be ruined by a towel! :p

We were on the Crown in July in the Baltic. It was a wonderful cruise. The staff was very helpful and friendly. However I would like to mention one thing. My husband came down with a terrible cold/flu (not norovirus) and missed 2 days of excursions. We noticed that lots of people on the ship were coughing and hacking. And there were very few hand sanitizing stations set up anywhere! I hope the Crown improves their sanitizing practices.

Always pack for all kinds of weather. You will be miserable if you are too cold or too hot. Some of the ships are freezing and women need to bring a wrap or sweater to dinner. On my first cruise I was so cold that the waiter brought me a tablecloth to wrap up in! :)

I would like to know that too for June on CP as I am a draught beer lover. I heard of Stella Artois on tap, but not 100% sure. As long as it not Bud Light, don't mind the Bud Super but not Bud Light, like water!

Ah, he would be very pleased with Stella!

 • 1 month later...

The free coffee isn't great but tolerable if watered down. (I like it weak)

The chair hogs only congregate around the edges of the main pools if you don't mind sitting back a little don't present to big of a problem. IF you have to sit right next to the pool edge to watch your kids- good luck. You'll have to be up early & stick around all day or you might lose your seat.

Ckestes19,

Come on over and join our roll call for the March 15th cruise!! We've got a pretty large sized group now and are planning a meet and greet after the muster drill :)

I'm a computer dummy so don't know how to post the link, but if you look under the Princess roll calls, then the March 15th thread, you will find us and can come join in the fun :D
