Ruby vs. Grand

I am looking at both ships. If you have been on both the Ruby and the Grand which one do you prefer and why? Thanks.

All itineraries being equal, I would choose Ruby - it is a far newer ship. Grand has been retrofitted for some of the Ruby features but on Ruby - you get all the latest ship features.

I've been on both and loved them both. We have great staff on both, loved our rooms, and liked our stops. If I had to select a favorite it would be the RUBY; for the simple reason is that we liked the international cafe and the entire concept of different types of entertainers during the day.

As others have said, the Ruby is newer, but I personally like the Grand because it has a deck less of passengers, so it carries 500 less people.:)

The Grand was the first Grand Class ship built in 1998 and the Ruby is the latest and greatest built 2008 but just started sailing in Nov.

We have sailed the Grand 8 times and the Ruby once.

I would always pick the Ruby because of all the new enhancements added since the Grand was introduced.

Only other consideration would be iteniary.

We prefer the Grand. Just too many people on the Ruby. We would do the Ruby or one of the other

extra deck behemoths depending on the time of year and itinerary tho.

I was on the Ruby for the inaugural, and never felt like there were too many people on board. For Grand vs Ruby, I liked the Ruby better because it was newer, but both are wonderful ships.
