Car Rental on Grand Bahama Island

Looking to rent a car in Feb. for the day. There will be 5 of us - want to head to Lucayan National Park for the day and not pay the NCL $100 pp (or whatever they charge!)

Has anyone had a good/bad experience renting a vehicle and driving to Lucayan National Park?

I rented a car last year...it was a breeze. Rental office at the port. You can haggle prices a bit, but will end up around $60.00. Don't forget to drive on the "wrong" side of the road! Have fun.

Remember nothing is that close... and get maps/directions before going. Have a wonderful time.

DW and I will be there in April and are looking to do the same thing. We are looking to spend a few hours at gold rock beach, maybe go through the caves across the street, drive to the marketplace, get some conch fritters, etc and then head back to the ship. For anyone that is familiar with GBI, is there parking around the gold rock beach area?

Yes, there's a small lot across the street, and you can also park along the road if it's full.
