Just wondering if you had any pictures of the room? we are deciding between room #1198,#9299, or #8336. How badly obstructed was the balcony from the window washing equipment?

Please post your question on the main board. See the request repeated below and in the title of the thread.

Please assist me in keeping this thread on topic. It was created so that I can compile information on cabins into a spreadsheet that will serve as a tool for everyone in their cabin selection.

Do not post here asking about a cabin. When someone returns with information on a cabin it will be posted here and then put on the spreadsheet.

Posting questions " Need Info on Cabin# XXXX" just clutters up this thread. You will get better results by posting your questions on the main board.

If you are looking for info on a specific cabin return to this thread weekly and see if anyone returning from the previous week's cruise has reported back.

SOLSTICE

Deck - 9

Cabin # - 9257

Class – Concierge

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Bed near? – Bathroom

Quiet Cabin - Yes – very quiet & peaceful cabin & hallway – entry to inside cabins on this level are on the Starboard side of the ship, so there is no addt'l ‘door closing’ noise. Beware: every word you speak (no matter how softly) on the balcony or inside your cabin if the sliding door is open can be heard by everyone elas...the balconies act like alleyways and amplify all conversation!

Balcony View – totally unobstructed & wonderful…fabulous view!

Balcony Size? Normal with comfy lounge chairs, footstools & table

Was wind a problem? No, not at all…quite the contrary...when there was a breeze, it was refreshing!

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? N/A…although I noticed on numerous occasions that there was black ‘soot’ all over the deck/floor on the 14th & 15th levels (Pools/Oceanview Café/Sky Deck…I’m thinking that soot accumulation depends on the wind velocity & direction at any given time...the staff continually cleaned the deck to remove the soot accumulation.

Any specific problems with this cabin? No, I loved it and would definitely book it again…great cabin design for maximum utilization of space… I definitely prefer the Beds being near the Bathroom rather than vice versa. The bathroom was more than adequate & the shower was superb!

Any other comments? I absolutely LOVED the Solstice! The Ship is beautiful & well maintained. The food was good although not exceptional (even in the Specialty Restaurants). The cabin stewards were wonderful & attended to our every need. Our Cabin was ‘refreshed’ several times daily…the Bathroom was cleaned & the towels were replaced at least 2 times a day (and we did not request this). We felt appreciated & were pampered from beginning to end.

BTW: Ladies, consider having a manicure or pedicure onboard…I had a manicure/fill-in & it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had!

Finally, the staff was ever-vigilant about preventing the spread of viruses, etc. “Purell” stations were positioned all over the ship! What a relief!

Could you contact the person who gave you 7241 info ??

I feel that the bed layout may be in error.

All cabins seem to alternate (ie-bed by window then bed by bath)

The layout for 7241 does NOT follow this.

Also in the comment she states:

Any other comments? We had one teen with and she chose to sleep on pullman. When trundle is out, it is inches away from fridge and drawers (can't open). Can't get to balcony.

Which indicates the sofa was near the window !!!!!

Any other comments? If you have mobility problems it is a long walk to midships and then back to the stern for the speciality restaurants. Also the cabin is hidden behind a large white door with little signage as too whereit is. This I guess is so it can be paired with the suite next too it also behind the door.See http://picasaweb.google.com/clydecruiser/CelebrityEquinox#5362713988715935618 and http://picasaweb.google.com/clydecruiser/CelebrityEquinox#5362714134340080978

Hi, since you were in the exact same cabine that we're going to be this winter - I was wondering if the view is really (and how?) obstructed as it says on celebrities web page?

regs jr

We were in 7295 for a 2 night November sailing of Solstice.

Bed is close to the balcony doors, with the sofa in the middle of the cabin.

Normal size balcony

Nice cabin, no noise from upstairs or below.

We will be in a Forward cabin Family Balcony on the 3/1 sailing I'm hoping to post pics and let you know about that cabin 8108.

Please post your question on the main board. See the request repeated below and in the title of the thread. Most just post here and don't return so it is unlikely that your question would be answered here.

I think the Info pdf may have something innacurate on it. I looked at cabin 2152 because I'm thinking of booking it, and when it said it was noisy, being underneath the dining area, I did a search for the post that backed up that comment. The one post that refers to 2152 says nothing about noise...soot, but not noise.

Any specific problems with this cabin? There is a smoking area directly below the verandah on deck 5 outside. I could smell the smoke on the verandah.

Any other comments? This was a naming cruise so might be a little unusual, however till the early hours smokers were using the area on deck 5 below the verandah, and there was some noise from the talking and laughing from a group who gathered there.Might have been better is the bed was next to the bathroom in this stateroon. It was quiet apart from this, and very convenient for the elevators - no noise at all from them.

Was wind a problem? No not on this 2day as no wind really.

Any other comments? The cabin was opposite the front elevators. The state atndants trolley was left outside the door on occasions. Balcony was normal size but there was no left frosted partition so got a view of whole side of the ship as balcony is 1st on hump. Not a prob grt view, but wind could be and if look down and left then see all the tops of the lifeboats down the side of the ship.

Any other comments? Cabin was towards the aft from the central elevators. Personaly I prefer to have bed by Bath, it gives a larger area in that part of the Cabin. ALSO on Equinox the shelves and safe have been taken out of the wardrobe. The shelves gone, create more hanging space and the safe has moved to above the mini bar in the central cabinet area (much better).
