ilovecruzan Posted January 29, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 29, 2009 Does anyone know how much it cost for a taxi from the port (Cape Liberty) to the airport? Trying to figure out which is better, using RCL's transportation or just hiring a taxi. Thanks.
138east Posted January 29, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 29, 2009 Check out this post http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=764116&highlight=supershuttle Somebody last year made a reservation with Supershuttle to be picked up at the port to go to Newark Airport. I think you may have to call the local number directly.

Langley Cruisers Posted January 31, 2009 #4 Share Posted January 31, 2009 We didn't know any better, so at the Customer Relations Desk onboard we purchased 2 shuttle bus tickets to EWR post-cruise, at a cost of $21.50 per person (something like that). We found out later that there are buses lined up ready to take you to the various airports, and the cost is a reasonable $14.00 each or very close to it. The buses are coaches with a bathroom, not little hotel shuttle buses. The buses wait until they are full, and usually go by airline. For example, everyone on our bus was going to Continental Airlines at Newark Airport - one easy stop for the driver. A cab, as stated will run close to 50 or 60 bucks, with tip. Your choice. Do you have to make reservations for these buses or do you just walk on the bus and pay then?
familycruzer Posted February 3, 2009 #6 Share Posted February 3, 2009 We took a taxi van to our hotel by the airport and dropped off people at the airport along the way. Cost was $14 per person.
miopyk Posted February 12, 2009 #7 Share Posted February 12, 2009 Morning and hello from a newbie on the other side of the pond. I think this thread has answered my question but just to confirm, we are going on the EOS on the 22/2 and coming back on the 6/3. When we get back we are picking a rental up from Dollar at EWR and we were wondering how to get from Bayonne to EWR. Are there plenty of Taxis available at the port or is it best to book one in advance? Thanks for your help Miopyk:cool:
