Would like to cruise in July. Will prices drop?

Trying to convince the family to take a cruise in July 2009. That's the earliest time we would be able to go. I'm looking around at prices and they are still a bit steep for the larger ships at that point. Which way do you think prices will go in the next few months. Should we wait or are is this about the lowest they will go?

 

Honestly, I'd love to sail on RC's Freedom of the Seas or Liberty of the Seas, but the rest of the family is shying away from the price tag. What do you guys think?

July is peak season, since kids are out of school. How many cabins do you need? You could wait until 60 days out, but you run the risk of not getting what you want, or the ship being sold out. Prices sometimes go up after the final payment date.

If prices drop after you book, unless the price drop is for new bookings only, you can get the new, cheaper price.

I'd book now if you can afford the prices, so that you get the cabin you want! The good ones go fast! RCI does honor most price drops, unless they're for new bookings only.

Book now if you can and get the rooms you want, considering you are going with family.

 

Too, look at airfare if needed. There are some good rates out now for some dates. But rates on flights go up while cruise rates drop the closer to the date.
